Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is our primary marketing automation platform, which powers our lead capture, lead database, landing pages, mass email outreach, and flows data through to our Salesforce instance. It scores and tracks our leads from the first touch on our corporate website. It acts as our platform of record for all prospects and leads prior to them making their way directly to our SDR team.
  • Lead scoring is easy to set up and manage
  • Resource management gets the job done
  • Email/newsletter creation and process is easy to use
  • The overall UIUX feels dated and sometimes cumbersome to use
  • Analytics can be a challenge to navigate at times to get to what you really need
  • Templates could be better for landing pages and emails - especially for responsive design

In general the platform provides our team with a single destination that manages the incoming prospects/leads that ultimately become customers to build our business on.

Lead Management - increase effectiveness of pipeline mgmt and organization
Prospecting / New Business - drive new business, pipeline, MQLs to SQOs for the sales org
It's been several years since I used HubSpot, prior to switching to Marketo. I recall HubSpot having a more updated UI/UX and thus being much easier to navigate as a new user. However, I don't believe HubSpot is as robust or powerful, so it depends on your level of usage.
If you have an experienced/dedicated admin for your platform, which I'd recommend, then it can be very powerful. If you are lacking that person in house it can be expense or timely to get exactly what you need done quickly. It is a large enough platform that requires prior knowledge or training
