Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 Defender

365 Defender provides another level of insight to the organization, helping to gain a 360 understanding of what is happening at all levels. It can be very difficult to get this insight, often requiring a selection of packages to get close. However, a big proportion of areas are covered with 365 Defender. Being security conscious, while many will suggest only running a single XDR type solution, Defender has worked well for us coupled with another known endpoint product, so between the two, we're confident we have all areas covered across the organization scattered worldwide.
  • Reporting
  • Live insights.
  • Mitigation step examples.
  • Integration with RMM/API.
  • The management dashboard, while clean, still feels like more could be added.
  • Further insights.
  • Faster response with notifications to inbox.
  • Less time is spent looking for vulnerabilities as they're quickly shown.
  • Further confidence in organization security.
Every day is a challenge when considering security. As a team, we always want the best and to cover every single area, however we know it's not always possible but 365 Defender 'plugs a gap' and bridges what several solutions would be needed for. Having devices in many locations means cloud management is a must and the integration with the rest of the 365 offering takes this to another level.
365 Defender allows us to quickly be ahead of security as things happen as it's making responses faster. The recommendations are useful for more junior members of the team.
We're not yet using this across the estate but are trialing it before full deployment. It seems very useful, and we've been impressed so far! I could see a lot of organizations getting great use from this. For any team, having a level of automation that can be relied on is key to helping save time, being faster at responding and more efficient.
Yes!
We've compared the solution to probably 5-10 others having selected just a handful of the more recent ones. Using this with one other, we feel like we've covered most areas as possible. The integration with the Microsoft stack cannot be beaten and it just feels natural to use as part of the organisation Microsoft offering which no other solution can really rival!

Do you think Microsoft Defender XDR delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Defender XDR's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Defender XDR live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Microsoft Defender XDR go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Defender XDR again?

Yes

For a cloud/hybrid-cloud deployment with users working everywhere, this seems to fit well. It's very easy to enable and deploy across the estate if you are already using Azure AD (Entra) and Intune. This would be an overkill and probably a waste with better solutions existing for on-premises deployments. Users' really need to have 1:1 devices for the full power of 365 Defender, as I feel many features and reporting areas are focused around this over shared devices.
