Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is being used across Design and Marketing, for everything from presentations to brainstorm sessions. After everything, it's frequently used as an area to check the latest updates on products from different teams. It's been helpful especially in this time of remote working, where everyone is working at different times and even time zones on the same projects. We use multiple boards for different seasons, as well as specific brainstorm boards where we're able to easily copy and paste things across.
  • Team-wide simultaneous brainstorming.
  • Up-to-date boards for double-checking anytime.
  • Copy/Paste information easily.
  • Presentations with a designed flow.
  • Better image manipulation, around cropping and moving things around.
  • Alignment could be improved — currently is good but could be better.
  • I frequently accidentally select all and mess up boards.
  • I also frequently type random letters because I'm used to using hotkeys on Illustrator.
  • Improved productivity across remote working.
  • Better tie-in stories between multiple products and teams that wouldn't usually interact day-to-day.
  • Less duplication of work when it comes to presentations and up-to-date boards.
I think the implementation of Miro is done smoothly, I frequently use it on my Safari browser, but I know others who may use it on Firefox or Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. I wasn't sure if there was a desktop app either, but that might be even better for integration when it comes to using it on my MacBook Pro.
I would give Miro and 8 for was of integration because the controls are easy to use, anyone is able to set up an account and log in through their web browser, and immediately start. No complicated setup or anything. There are a lot of features that I haven't explored yet though.
This has been the main feature of Miro that we use, is the online whiteboard so that we can work across time zones. We have people working in multiple countries, all at different are simultaneous times, and this allows us to more efficiently show work without re-sharing screens all the time on a Teams call.

  • MURAL (formerly Mural.ly)
We've used Mural but I believe our company chose Miro because of the purchasing or buying package. I do like Mural as well, and the biggest and probably only thing I like about it more is the hotkeys. Other than that, Miro is very similar and can compete with Mural easily.
II think Miro is great for creative boards and presenting non-linear ideas and flows. When it comes to presentations, it's a bit more casual and you can add/update things while the main person is presenting, which is great. However, for the more business side of things where you present graphs on slides and numbers, I would stick to a straightforward powerpoint.
