Overall Satisfaction with monday.com
- It's challenging to quantify, but there are significant time savings from having to create Gantt charts from scratch or having to use and update multiple project management tools.
- We've seen significant financial savings from not having to subscribe to multiple project management tools.
- It provides greater flexibility to allow team members to work remotely, due to the confidence monday.com's project management instills.
We use Monday.com as a project management tool for our Strategy department, as well as a status tool to coordinate with clients and keep them updated as the project progresses. We have a partially remote workforce, and monday.com helps to keep everyone on the same page, accountable to deadlines, and looped in with any project changes.
Pros
- The ability to create checklists/timelines that live within different "Boards" creates an easy way to manage multiple projects and team members.
- "Owner" and "Due Date" functions allow for task assignment and accountability, even for remote teams, and "Status" allows managers to anticipate any bottlenecks.
- The ability to share boards allows us to invite clients to share with what we see, so they're in the loop with project progress and timelines.
- Boards can be copied, so for similar projects there's no need to recreate a board from scratch.
Cons
- Task Dependencies were just added, but are still in the early stages of implementation.
- Timeline and Main View functionality should still be brought closer together (e.g., the Main View prioritizes "Due Date," but Timeline needs to show "Duration").
We've never had an issue with the Monday.com interface being down. With that in mind, I can only say that our experience has been that the interface has been extremely reliable. This is helpful, as we are - at times - managing clients and team members across time zones and even continents.

- Smartsheet and Asana
Candidly, we still use both as monday.com and Smartsheet, as monday.com only recently added dependencies, and that was integral to our proposal and pricing process.

monday.com & Collaboration
Monday.com allows us to keep our teams on the same page through shared dashboards and tasks. Assigning tasks to specific team members increases visibility and accountability across organizations. Timelines and the calendar view enable managers to connect and stay on top of key deadlines and milestones. Comments allow team members to collaborate with each other - and with clients - through the use of task-specific threads.
I would rate it as a 10, absolutely.
We looked at multiple project management tools - including Wrike and Asana - and Monday.com was the most intuitive for our teams to use, our managers to update, and our clients to understand at-a-glance. The breadth of functionality was comprehensive yet presented in a way that wasn't overwhelming. Dashboard management is simple for Admin members.
