Overall Satisfaction with Motive

We use Motive (previously KeepTruckin) for our ELD needs, including logs and IFTA tracking

  • Thousands of dollars of maintenance bills because drivers could not monitor their own engine systems with our EDGE monitors.
We spent many hours on the phone trying to come up with a solution to our special needs when we discovered that their gateway was not compatible with our EDGE monitors. They were never able to come with a solution and, in my opinion, seemed to think we didn't need anything except the engine diagnostics in their app and that engine diagnostics were included in the ELD mandate. In the end, they said they couldn't help us and refused to allow us to get out of their contract. We now know at least one company that is familiar with the EDGE monitor and how to integrate it with their ELD, but if we go with them, we would be paying double for ELD services.
In my opinion, DO NOT use Motive if you have any special needs!

I believe the Motive (previously KeepTruckin) gateway is incompatible with any other system needing to access the ECM. We use EDGE monitoring systems so that our drivers can monitor their own temperatures and engine systems while they are driving, but even after repeated attempts to get Motive (previously KeepTruckin) to resolve our issues and, in my opinion, their failure to even try to understand why we needed this system to be compatible with our own needs, their final decision was that they couldn't help us and that we had to stay in the contract until it expired. To top it off, I felt the email subject denying our request was demeaning and unprofessional, indicating that we did not understand the ELD industry. If you have any special needs, I suggest you DO NOT get involved with Motive (previously KeepTruckin)!!
