Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Nintex Process Platform is being used in our organization to automate business processes, from simple approval workflows to complex and multiple scenario applications that check for several conditions and edit several fields in the list or library. As part of the SharePoint support team, we provide basic consultation and troubleshooting services to our end users.

Pros and Cons

Clear and concise logic when building workflows
Simple and useful connectors
Ability to test the flow before running
Easy to troubleshoot, with easy to understand error messages in the logic
Robust, helpful and positive support and community

Make it more user friendly, as initial contact with the software can be intimidating
More connectors should be added
More trainings and/or demos for use cases

Return on Investment

I believe from a support stand point that ROI is well beyond the cost
The automation has definitely lessened the load for both managers and users alike

Usability

I would rate the usability of the Nintex Process Platform workflow a ten out of ten, It's easy to use and for simple flows, there is no need for training. The logic is simple to understand. There's a vibrant community that is ready to help out if end-users run into problems. There are even some project samples online with step-by-step tutorials.

Integrations

Nintex Process Platform is integrated with our Exchange, SharePoint and File Shares, among others. It can also be used to connect to several apps like, but not limited to, SQL Databases. Overall the connectivity and integrations are great.

The widespread use of Nintex Power Platform among end-users is a testimony to its applicability in regard to integrating with existing tools.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Power Automate

I would prefer Nintex Process Platform over Power Automate. Power Automate has less connectors, and has even less triggers for the flow. Power Automate tends to have a more rigid structure, but on the other hand, Nintex is more fluid.
