Overall Satisfaction with OnPay
We use OnPay for our Payroll needs. While we are a small company, PayRoll and the associated tax payment requirements all take up valuable time and bandwidth. These tax requirements seem to be in a constant state of flux. For a small fee, it is well worth having a company like OnPay take care of these all-too-important-requirements, freeing up our time to spend elsewhere on more enjoyable aspects of building our business.
Pros
- OnPay responds promptly and informatively to questions we have had over our taxation requirements.
- OnPay provides a simple-to-use interface for our bi-monthly PayRoll
- OnPay has responded informatively over letters received from the IRS and has given us piece of mind that the regular tax payments, both state ad federal, are being handled correctly by the OnPay team.
Cons
- It would be god for OnPay to provide regular email updates that state and federal tax payments have been made.
- While it is possible to find out, by scrolling through various links on the website, whether OnPay has made critical state and federal tax payments, it is often had to find where to look if you are not full conversant with the tax code language.
- It would be good to be able to execute payroll in advance, in cases where the person doing payroll goes on vacation for longer than a couple weeks. Currently, OnPay only allows you to execute payroll for a current period, not a future period.
- Time saving is definitely a huge benefit.
- Knowing that personal and company taxes are being accurately calculated and sent to the IRS provides piece-of-mind.
- OnPay makes it easy to update our Illinois SUI (State Unemployment Insurance) Contribution Rate when it changes year-by-year.
OnPay is the first payroll service we have used, but there has been no reason to justify us looking for a comparable product to make the switch. OnPay has the services we need. It has additional services that we do not currently need, but perhaps in the future if our company grows it might be useful, but for now it has the basic payroll and tax document services we require and are happy enough to not feel the need to look elsewhere.

Using OnPay
1 - We are a small company, so staff cover many aspects of business functions and perform them daily. One staff member in our organization uses OnPay. It is just simpler this way. Because we only use OnPay for bi-weekly payroll services, and of course the automatic tax document filing that OnPay does, it is easier for one person to maintain their famiiarity with the product and to complete the tasks quickly.
1 - We have one person in-house that uses OnPay on an on-going basis. That person has been with the company for four or five years now and has been using OnPay for payroll services for about four of those years. They are well organized and detail oriented which helps with a constant recurring use of OnPay for the company's bi-weekly payroll needs.
