Overall Satisfaction with Procore

Procore is being used as a project management software to track our projects from start to finish, including contract, commitments, change orders and the like. We send out bid invites to our subcontractors, follow a timeline, upload documents and drawings and maintain our communication history. We use the app on site so our foreman can keep things up to date in real-time.

Timberline was one of the softwares were were using and before that we were just using Excel custom documents to track. We do use MS Project to generate our schedules as this provides the details we like. The timeline feature in Procore does lack a little and we still utilize MS Project specifically for generate our schedules and timelines. We then upload into Procore. Our eEstimating department using estimating software versus Procore, since it is not an estimating software.
Having the cloud based access is very helpful in getting real-time updates from the job site while several of the team members are stationed in the office or traveling to other locations. This allows the PM to manage the various projects and find out what is happening without having to be at each site all day. Accessing reports, documents, drawings is so important and not having to be in the office or at a laptop to obtain this information is so valuable.

Reporting and Schedule allow us to see where we had issues and if they are something we can improve on for the next project.
The phone app allows us to make sure information is easily accessed and up to date real time so nothing is outdated.
Tracking costs using the Construction Financials is key and allows us to see where all the dollars are at any time, which is especially important to the owners.
Employee time tracking allows us to easily review and process so that employees are paid on time, see where the time was spent and make any adjustments as needed.
There is a learning curve when using Procore and it takes time to really utilize all the features that are available since there are so many layers to each of the categories. The good thing is the more you use it, the easier it gets. Project Management is complicated which makes it reasonable to expect some level of time to be needed to truly utilize all the features and layers available in Procore. When all the tools are utilized, it can be a powerful tool providing a level of detail on a project that allows you to manage more effectively, reduce time losses and track the numbers.
Procore works as a great project management tool, managing the timeline, documentation, drawings, contract and commitments, change orders, etc. I was able to add customized details to the admin page so that we could track specific items for each project that our company desired. Procore staff was very helpful in explaining this process and assisted in setting up.

Procore is not suited for estimating. The bidding tool is for bidding on existing projects and trying to manage anything prior to the actual project being awarded is too difficult.
