Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use QBO for our accounting and financial department. Including invoicing, expenses and banking. It helps us keep taps on our financial status as a non-profit organization. And keeps us in check on how we use designated and non-designated funds. One of our main focuses to use QBO is the integration with online donation platforms like Kindful. They automatically create sales receipts that greatly reduces the workload of our finance team.

Implementation

QBO was easy to implement, most integrations work out of the box and setting up the Chart of Accounts and reports were easy. Besides that there is a lot of videos and support articles from Intuit, but also from other companies that support QBO.

Cloud-Based System

Especially the mobile app offers a quick overview and useful tools to make life easier. Many people no longer are behind a computer all day. So to be able to get a quick overview or to do simple tasks the Mobile app offers a good experience. For details the online experience is the way to go.

QuickBooks helps us as an non profit organization to keep taps on our designated and non designated funds. It also helps us to have a good overview but also in depth view of our income and expenses. That way we can become more efficient, and that helps the people that we serve.

QBO is great for getting our online donations streamlined into our accounting software. Instead of having to go over all the income and create receipts these get imported from the integrated programs. This saves us a ton of time.

Our struggle with QBO is distributing the income into different funds. We separate our income into different ministries/outreaches that we do(if the funds are not designated). QBO has options for this, its just not as easy to manage and automate this.
