I work in a school district. We use Read&Write district wide to support all learners but especially those that need speech to text, word prediction, text to speech. Staff have found dictionary and picture dictionary to be very useful. We try to encourage the use for all students and staff.

- Word prediction
- Speech to text different languages (type in English)
- Translation
- Support for research-outline tools
- Features in word bank universal
- Ability to move word prediction toolbar to bottom of screen
- Read aloud to act like fluency tutor
- Writing support like wriQ to make better writers
- Vocabulary list saves time
- Text to speech allows student to have things read independently
- Remove distractions helps students focus on reading and makes it easier to read
This is very important to my school district. The support needs to be reliable and work when we need it.
We haven’t used Kami in awhile, but it did not measure up when we last tried it.
All the Don Johnston products do things very well. We always had all the products because they are similar but did some things better than Read&Write. For example, word bank is a real time saver to staff who have students that need a word bank, the summary feature helps them adapt material and give the student a quick overview of the article. The translation support in Co:Writer and Snap&Read are superior to Read&Write. The outline tool is a fabulous tool for students of all ages. Staff have used it in courses they are taking!
