Overall Satisfaction with Salesforce.com

We use Salesforce.com through out our sales, implementation, support, and renewal phases. It gives us a central repository for tracking leads, companies, contacts, cases, renewal opportunities, and many other activities. Salesforce allows different functions to see the customer in different ways but still have a full view of the complete lifecycle, what is working, what is not.

Compared to GoldMine, the contrast is night and day. GoldMine is good and simple but extremely limiting in what it can do and doesn't work well across as many functions. Salesforce effortlessly provides strong tools for all roles within our organization allowing them a view and access to what they need.

Learning how to customize Salesforce is not the easiest task ever but not overwhelming especially for the power and control you get. Once you have mastered what you need, usability, the ability to get the views, data, and tracking you need is painless. Also, with the ability to build custom processes any action is easily repeatable.
There is a large community of Salesforce users that is extremely happy to help. I haven't found a question I could not get answered by searching online. There are millions of users so someone has already tried what you are trying now, or at least close enough you can get the answers.
I don't know how we would run our business without Salesforce.com. The ability for all of our functions to have the ability to track their interactions in one place is important and no other tool works as well. From a client being an initial lead through a long standing customer, it is all here.
