Overall Satisfaction with SilkRoad Onboarding (RedCarpet)
SilkRoad Onboarding, also known as Red Carpet, allows us to simplify the overall onboarding process for new employees. Generally, the process is seamless and does not require paper forms. The overall business problem electronic on-boarding addresses are reducing the loss of information from person to person when papers are passed between individuals, and reducing the risk of loss or tracking the respective forms. In the past, not knowing where the form was could create delays in getting information processed in a timely fashion for new hire employees. The online system also allows us to track the status and review forms after the on-boarding process is completed.
- It keeps online forms available for review when necessary.
- It keeps track of tasks required to complete the new hire process.
- We're unable to write custom reports -- this requires the services of a software company.
- There are limited options to customize the user interface.
- It's been positive in reducing the paperwork for employees and supervisors.
- Negative in its technical limitations with interfaces.
The overall system is comparable to other on-boarding systems. The interface is similar to others in the industry I have used or observed during industry events. Limitations with customization of user interface design and reporting requirements is the primary challenge compared to others in the industry with similar features or function.
Support is adequate. They are about the same, and the expected turn around time is acceptable in the industry standard. We have no complaints with customer support. The tracking system is good and allows for updates to issues, so there are generally no questions where the case may sit with engineering or application support.

If using an existing third-party ERP System, don't expect the information inbound from SilkRoad to integrate without many hours of work and research. There are some systems it will work with out of the box, but others will require a third-party consultant. Also, reporting requirements will not be met unless requests are sent directly to the software company.
