Splashtop is one of the remote desktop applications that is utilized for accessing workstations. It is also utilized as a remote desktop option to sell to clients in order for them to remotely connect into their own computers. It works just like many other business vendors to provide a secure remote connection.
Pros
- Fast, efficient connection.
- Expected features from remote desktop including file sharing and remote printing.
- Ability to easily switch between monitors and perform remote tasks on a computer(s) when necessary.
Cons
- Large scale rollout can be improved, deployment is flakey.
- Business Access Solo is very nicely priced, but numerous vital features are removed.
- Splashtop is a great asset for the compliance heavy clients especially. Even if this isn't the "primary" remote access tool, it needs to be ready to employ.
- Depending on the tier of software, all of the features needed are available and at your disposal.
- LogMeIn Central, ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect), TeamViewer and Kaseya Virtual System Administrator (VSA)
LogMeIn is the "gold standard" for remote access software. That comes at a steep premium in the current day. ScreenConnect is an amazing tool that is very quick and effective. TeamViewer is one of the only remaining "free" holdouts (for non-business purposes). Kaseya's VSA remote access tool leaves a lot to be desired. Splashtop is firming in the middle as it holds it's own with performance and features, whereas price is much better than LogMeIn.
