Overall Satisfaction with Tableau Desktop
Tableau is being used as a near real-time dashboard. We use it in specific business use cases as well as across the enterprise to provide visual access to critical data. It primarily serves as a dashboard for me by pulling data from different data sources - database, Excel, SharePoint- and putting it together in a view that is easily understood and communicated. I have used it to both to create reports and provide a nearly real-time view of data.
- Real-time view.
- Connects to database
- Provides click-through analysis.
- Visually appealing layout.
- It is not intuitive to use.
- Requires time and effort to create a dashboard.
- Should offer out of the box functionality.
It offers superior capabilities of visualizing information. Tableau's ability to convert unstructured statistical information into fully functional, interactive and appealing dashboards is pretty amazing.
QlikView and Power BI do not offer that level of dashboarding capability. Also, Tableau lets you analyze data in a way that drives decision making and not just information.
