Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

UltiPro is our HRIS for our entire company. We use this system for payroll, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, reporting, and employee record keeping- all parts of HR and Recruiting.
  • It looks clean to employees.
  • If you want to pay to customize, it has that capability, but make sure you have a huge budget.
  • I don't even know where to start- I think the reporting is the most lacking for how much they brag about it. It's great if you want to pay for an expert to create reports using truly the most confusing reporting setup I've ever seen. Unless you are a programmer specifically trained in UlitPro, it's impossible
  • I truly think they don't care about customers that don't want to pay them extra to customize everything. Everything has an extra cost, even things that should be needed by any HR department in the US.
  • Consolidating HR administration under a single solution
We did do this, but their reporting limitations heavily affect how helpful this actually is.
Namely is terrible-it couldn't manage payroll at all but its HR side and reporting are actually better than UltiPro. We switched from them because of all the errors. ADP I think would have been the better choice, but we chose the devil we knew because everyone had experience with UltiPro. I was hoping it would have improved.
Forget about getting feeds set up within the first year. God help you if you switch vendors pretty regularly. Reporting is a nightmare unless you want to devote all your time to it. Their standard reports come out in unusable formats, like they CAN be Excel but are not usable because of their formatting. It's truly the strangest thing.
Support is a joke. There are somehow way too many of them but none of them help you. You submit a ticket, and they supposedly call you back. But if they do call, it's at times when they hope you won't pick up (8am or after 5pm). They rarely leave messages and then close out your ticket saying you weren't responsive. It's truely all about some numbers they have to reach and their employees have learned how to game it without doing actual work. Probably the most intelligence I've seen from them honestly.
One time they gave me free jewelery during the sales process.
I would not recommend this system unless you just have a massive HR department with a lot of funds to pay them to customize everything. Honestly, I would get Workday even if I were in that situation.
