Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
We are using our Unitrends appliance across our organization in North America and also an appliance in Mexico. It is very easy to set up and use. The user interface is intuitive and it makes for quick and easy file or folder retrieval for our organization, thus providing us with a great solution to recover missing or corrupted data.
Pros
- Easy to use and configure. Unitrends provided a great session with the support team to go through the set up and configuration process with us.
- Quick and easy to recover data to either the original location or to another location.
- Very good reporting tools and email notifications of completed or failed jobs.
- Excellent support with remote access.
Cons
- None come to mind.
- We recover overwritten engineering files weekly. User mistakes happen.
- We had a major recovery from a ransomeware attack.
- [We had a] server failure and we were able to recover data to another server within a very short time frame.
No competition. We were in the market for a new backup solution that would move us away from our quantum superloader tape library and Backup Exec.
The unitrends solution immediately impressed me in how easy it looked to use and the speed of recovering data. We also liked the baremetal, the SQL backups and the ability to then archive our data on a monthly basis to our archive unit.
