We currently use Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 to maintain full redundancy of our hosted Office 365 system. We have granular control with per mailbox restore options and have used it to great effect when recovering important information for emergencies, public records requests and internal investigations.

Needed user level backups that were fast and easy to restore with limited staff and skillsets. Data loss had occurred in the past and it hurt the organizational reputation. Once implemented and used the solution quickly paid for itself and we have been using the product successfully for many years now and plan on staying with Veeam.

We have been able to restore data from simple things like a user deleted their data from Outlook, on purpose or by accident. We can recover information going back many years or just a few hours. Having quick access to recovery data gives management stability in the knowledge that our data is constantly protected.

Having multiple restore options is useful in that when working with a compromised system we can restore to a known safe location. Other times with server level files it needs to go back exactly where it came from and that is an option as well. The .zip option is good for compressing files to send to others over sometimes limited bandwidth connections.

Long term data storage and having historic data access is one of the top features for our organization. Granular mailbox level control has also added a lot of value as we can restore user level data quickly and easily at the request of other departments. This has saved a lot of time for our legal and HR departments specfically.
