Easy, Out-of-the-Box Setup with a Secure and Simple-to-Use Platform

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 has filled a gap in our backup infrastructure. We use it to back up and restore all of our cloud-based data that we couldn't back up with other means. We back up our Exchange email, OneDrive shares, Teams, and Sharepoint sites.

Our old cloud backup provider wasn't able to backup cloud-based data, only local data. We looked into different backup options, but I had used Veeam for other backup uses in the past. The pricing and scale for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 was just right for our organization. We've used it for all backup and restore functions and sandbox testing. A solid product.

The biggest benefit for our organization is the compliance that Veeam offers. Since our data is encrypted and stored locally, we don't have to accept the risk of a vendor being breached and accessing our data. The software is locally contained and secured.

We have done a few restores of emails back to the cloud from the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 software. It is seamless and the email appeared back in the user's inbox as if nothing happened. Our sandbox testing of restores for Sharepoint files and sites has also been seamless, restoring straight to the cloud or downloading the files locally.

My top two favorite features of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 are the security and notifications. Backups are locked down to their own subnet to keep out unauthorized access, but Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 takes it further with MFA integrated into their software. Users can be added with specific roles tied to MFA, so admins can keep specific users locked down to specific tasks. The notifications are great for keeping an eye on your backups and to see if there are any warnings or issues with them. Restores are the same; notifications for completed restores mean admins don't have to babysit a restore from the console.
