Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365

We use it to backup critical business data that resides in M365, mostly specific sites and document libraries in SharePoint Online, but also all of our Exchange Online mailbox data - it's 'our' responsibility to backup our data as explained in the M365 services agreement. We have in fact had to rely on it at least once as M365 actually lost some of our data during a 'routine data migration'...
  • Simplicity of setup
  • Instant recovery
  • Set it and forget it-like usage
  • I'd love to see Dataverse backup capabilities added
  • It was a lifesaver during a mishap that M365 had with some of our critical business data
When we came to understand that while M365 is perfectly fine as a reliable/resilient data storage service, it has (had) ZERO options for specific point in time data backups. Also, the services agreement spelled it out in no uncertain terms that 'we' wer responsible for the safeguarding and backing up of our own data.
Nothings perfect, but this gets fairly close. Just be aware of the current specific limitations (ie Dataverse)
Yes we have but I'm not detailing specific examples here...
As earlier, it's ease of setup, general ease of use and it's 'set and forget-like' nature, where you can rest easy with some peace of mind when you know it's doing it's thing for you.

Do you think Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365's feature set?

No

Did Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 again?

Yes

It's very well suited to anyone who hosts their business in M365 - you can opt to store the backup data in Azure or you could really double down and store it on-prem or with another cloud service provider entirely, such as Amazon Web Services. It can backup and restore SharePoint, Teams and Exchange data very easily. It's of no use at all currently for data residing in Dataverse storage unfortunately...
