Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

I have 19 clients and use WatchGuard systems in all of my client's offices. We utilize all of the Watchguard capabilities including the VPN capabilities. The web-filtering and granularity it provides in blocking specific items it ideal for my clients.
  • Site to Site VPN
  • Web-filtering
  • Default Packet Handling and auto block of unhandled external packets
  • None, unless you don't understand TCP/IP protocol or firewalling.
  • I have never failed a compliance review since I began using WatchGuard in 2008.
  • As granular as you can be, it sometimes is difficult to open intentionally blocked ports or sites. That is not the fault of a WatchGuard system.
I usually work with CDW, and I have had great success with them.
The most valuable part of the unified security platform to me is the ability to upgrade all firewalls at the same time, and set them for specific times in the future to avoid interruption of business hours.
I have used Watchguard firewalls since 2008, and as a M.S.P. I have experience with multiple other firewalls such as Sonic, Cisco, Juniper, etc. Of all the different firewalls I have worked with, Watchguard is the easiest to use, most in-depth, and they have great technical support.
I've never had an issue with the firewall licensing that WatchGuard uses.
Overall, the WatchGuard offers more capabilities, is faster, is easier to configure, and protects better. No other firewall is proactive and works to block based on unhandled packets, which is normally some sort of port scan or probing.

Do you think WatchGuard Network Security delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with WatchGuard Network Security's feature set?

Yes

Did WatchGuard Network Security live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of WatchGuard Network Security go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy WatchGuard Network Security again?

Yes

I think WatchGuard is less appropriate in very small offices of 1-5 people, but they still implement well. They just seem like overkill for all of their capabilities.
