Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security
We currently use WatchGuard Firebox Cloud to protect our AWS infrastructure across all departments. This allows us to log traffic from our virtual workstations and servers and ensure the entirety is protected using the Total Security Suite. We also use Dimension to monitor traffic for both our users and administrators.
Pros
- WatchGuard allows us to seamlessly integrate their WiFi solution providing us a secure and scalable wireless solution. Having the firmware for the access points built into Firebox System Manager allows for easy to manage upgrades.
- WatchGuard Management Server allows us to centrally manage all of our devices from a single console. Scheduling OS upgrades and reboot to happen in the middle of the night allows us to keep our products as up-to-date as possible without causing system downtime for our users.
- WatchGuard's SSLVPN solution allows our users to roam across the country and connect their systems using public access points.
Cons
- Although the technical team is very helpful, it seems that Support Cases tend to lag on longer than I would expect. Granted, I have never had a Priority 1 case go unattended, but some of the smaller "bugs" seem to get pushed aside.
- WatchGuard has allowed us to ensure that our security and integrity meet or exceed expectations from our Board of Directors.
The Total Security Suite allows us to maximize protection along with a single cost. Accounting loves it that there are no "extra" costs that show up for budgeting purposes.
