Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
We are using Workfront in our whole Vienna organization and plan to roll it out to our China organization as well soon. Mainly it is being used as a project portfolio management software. So we are managing all our projects in the system with all that it needs for proper project management. In addition to that, we are also tracking the time of most of our employees in Vienna in the system and doing our capacity management with Workfront. Furthermore, we are also running more and more workflows through the system, e.g. requests for IT, user onboarding, ideas, measurements, tool shop, etc.
- Customization - there is a high degree of customization working with custom forms/fields, reports and dashboard.
- Project management - it covers all functionalities for proper project management, from portfolio to capacity management and even including agile features.
- Support - Extensive training resources, great conferences, good customer support.
- Marketing - Great conferences and user groups.
- Nice logo and in general good design and look and feel.
- Graphics - need to have more features and especially the possibility to control fonts and colors and the xy-axes description.
- Multinationality - FTE=40 hours should be possible to change, e.g. by job role. Working with different currencies at the same time in one instance.
- Formatting inside custom fields - minimal formatting like bold, underline, bullet items.
- Snapshot of projects - feature to make a snapshot of a complete project to save it as a back-up, but also to save a specific snapshot for each milestone.
- Offline working mode.
- Layouts - Different project layouts by project type or organization.
- Much more transparency to the organization about the project portfolio and the status of the projects.
- One stop shop - almost all project management tasks can be done in one system - much more efficient.
- Much better view on capacities, by planning and tracking time in one system.
Before Workfront we have just used MS Project in combination with Excel and some homemade software for time tracking. Workfront combined all of this into one system which made our work much more efficient. The high degree of customization to our needs and methodologies is an especially high advantage. And capacity management in the way we can do it now in Workfront was not possible before with acceptable effort.
