Overall Satisfaction with Xero

I use Xero to manage my invoicing, financial reporting, and expense tracking. I can easily reconcile my transactions, which makes tax time a lot easier.

Pros

  • Invoicing is very easy from creation, to sending, to reconciling.
  • Bank account reconciliation takes about 5 minutes each week.

Cons

  • They don't make it easy to have different fees for the same Item.
  • Xero saves me time by not making me do a lot of mundane accounting work. This enables me to get more work done.
  • I can automatically send out invoice reminders DOL doesn't have to stay on top of it.
Xero is a lot easier for the non-accountant. Most of the language is easy to understand and not finance-speak. I can do what I need to do in 1/2 the time. They also have great support, so if I mess something up when I reconcile, they help me sort it out.
I used to use Quick Books and found it very confusing for the non-accountant. I am a small business, and I need to get invoices created quickly and tracked. I need to reconcile my account, so I can just let my accountant in at the end of the year to do my taxes. I love that I can get excellent support via email reasonably quickly. For me, it's the best solution out there. I'm not sure if a larger company would feel the same.
