  • Zoho CRM is easy to get started right out of the box. Basic setup is a breeze.
  • It is very customizable as you have full control over almost every field.
  • It is very inexpensive (or free) to get started with a couple of users. This makes it easy to try it out and take it for a spin without committing a large investment. You can then increase your plan or number of users as you see fit.
  • Zoho is expanding its footprint, but it is still not as fully integrated with quite as many applications as some of the more well-known CRM platforms such as Salesforce. This will likely change as it's popularity grows, but it is worth noting here. Although Salesforce may not be quite as user-friendly and easily-customizable as Zoho out of the box, Salesforce appears to have more enterprise-level customizability and even has its own app marketplace.
  • Zoho greatly helped us create and manage our sales funnel process. We were able to track leads from beginning to end, and the reports enabled us to see the steps in the process that we needed to pay more attention to.
  • Zoho's own suite of web apps allowed our team to communicate very effectively within the Zoho ecosystem.
  • Zoho also has a knowledge base where we were able to share information and best practices as a team. We even used this to store rebuttals to common sales call questions.
  • Zoho also has the functionality to log customer service / technical issues brought up by customers. The system allowed to to keep track of each case in order to provide excellent service to customers.
I will definitely use it again for small businesses and projects. It does not appear to have quite as much integration with as many external apps as Salesforce, but it is a great option for small businesses. Admittedly I have not yet pushed it all the way to its limit in every way possible, but that has been my experience so far in using it for two different companies, and I look forward to really seeing how far it can go. The cost, ease of use, and customizability make me a big fan of Zoho CRM.
Recommending Zoho CRM will really depend on what someone is trying to accomplish. They would need to assess the tools they are currently using and see if it will integrate. They would need to have a clear idea of their future goals, including what kinds of tools they will be using in the future and how scalable of a business they want to build. Cost can also be factor, which could work to Zoho's advantage for small businesses however becomes less of a factor when there is more money to spend.
