Overall Satisfaction with Zoom
Our engineering team uses Zoom daily to coordinate tickets and the day's tasks. We also use it in our operations team when we need to do advanced sharing that other competing services don't handle well. As a business, we use it primarily for face-to-face interactions. We also subscribe to some of their competitor services, but Zoom is our top choice when we need to eliminate assumptions to move a task forward.
Pros
- Video calls are top notch. Much better than competing services.
- Speed and ease of connecting, starting up a conference.
- Reasonable costs for the crucial service they provide.
Cons
- We don't use Zoom for anything other than the video conferencing. It's hard to say if they added any other features that we would take advantage of them.
- Improved collaboration across all business groups.
- Real-time problem-solving.
- It has positively impacted our ability to communicate via face-to-face interactions.
Zoom has much better quality and less "hang ups" than both Uber Conference and Google Hangouts. Specifically compared to Uber Conference, we often will switch to Zoom midway through a meeting due to the deteriorating quality. Specifically compared to Google Hangouts, we use Google for Business, so we always are forced to add the Hangouts to every invite. We often switch it out to a Zoom meeting. I bet there is a way to default it to Zoom, but we haven't investigated yet.
