Pretty good as a basic CRM, decent as a support desk. Tries to do a lot, but doesn't excel at any one thing. Reasonably priced, though, and can be a component in a larger setup.

WORK[etc] seems to have a preponderance of IT firms, online design, and marketing firms and the like. Makes perfect sense. We tend to be early adopters. I'd strongly recommend WORK[etc] for virtually any company of any size. (WORK[etc] has a 2-user minimum base pricing, but I'd even recommend it for a company of one who plans to increase in the foreseeable future. They'd do well to establish excellent routines that can be performed by any hire, whether a full-time employee or a virtual assistant.)

Pros

  • Tracking customer interactions. Nice integration with G Suite, could be a lot better if they acknowledged that contacts may actually have more than one email address.
  • Support Ticket system is integrated, so we can view support history and other email correspondence easily. It's cheaper that Zendesk.
  • Support is reasonably good, usually prompt and responsive.
  • Constant development - lots of updates, just not often to areas that we use.

Cons

  • Cumbersome processes - feels like tasks take longer than they should.
  • We gave up on the Projects module, it was rather unintuitive. Switched to JIRA, which integrates with the Support module of Accelo.
  • Each email address requires a new contact. If one person uses multiple email addresses to contact you, that info will have to be spread across multiple contacts.

My staff hates it, our clients require transparency and you manual have to enter notes, billing is horrific, as it does not subtotal by type - so as a T&M shop there is no way to easily see how much was spent to each matter or service type.

They load quickly. Recently I have had an issue ( I still have) where when I click on the WE logo in Google mail there is a step between. That is an error. Needs to be picked up. Will report to support.

The implementation of the system was fairly easy. Because of our previous experience with a similar system, we were ready and working on the product as soon as we announced the switch. The system also allowed us to simplify our processes by integrating timesheets and project management directly into our CMS.

Alternatives Considered

Accelo doesn't really exceed any competitors in any one area of their product, but in 2015 when we made the move this was the best option that included all the tools we wanted. However, user adoption was low in some areas due to the UI, so we scaled back Accelo and added other tools.

For web development, Adobe was just like a larger WordPress based software to me. with WORKetc I get just about everything I need to manage clients, projects, workers, and more!
