If you are looking for a basic CRM this tool would work. It has lots of room to grow.

It is very well suited to professional services companies (consultancies, IT support companies etc). Many of the systems available are focussed more on manufacturing businesses so are quite difficult to apply to a consultancy environment. WorkETC was one of the best that we found to suit a consultancy business. When selecting the system it is always a balance between how you operate as a business and how the software does things and you have to find the right balance of changing your own procedures or changing the software. The biggest recommendation during the selection process is to get an extended trial period so that you can really test out how it works in practice in your business

  • Allows you to create tasks
  • Keeping track of notes made is easy

  • Support Tickets - the Support Tickets module is highly customizable and you can make it fit exactly to your needs. Every customer request goes into a ticket.
  • CRM - the CRM is highly customizable and you can make it fit exactly to your needs.
  • Invoicing - This is an awesome feature because we can bill directly from time spent and expenses of a job. Reminders are automatic also.

  • Difficult to upload targets
  • Not easy to modify a target
  • When uploading targets you can not attach them to tags until after they are uploaded.
  • When listing opportunities in the system, you are limited with what stage the opportunity is in and the star system is not very helpful. The status' are very vague and not always accurate.

  • Third party Integration - WORK[etc] is awesome but it REALLY needs third party integration with ZAPIER. There are some hardcoded integrations but it really needs the flexibility of Zapier.

It's competitively priced and for the benefits that we get from it - there is no alternative that does it better. The team behind WORKetc is constantly innovating and improving the system with a number of offerings in the pipeline that will improve it further. Overall a great system for SMEs and possibly medium level businesses.

They load quickly. Recently I have had an issue ( I still have) where when I click on the WE logo in Google mail there is a step between. That is an error. Needs to be picked up. Will report to support.

The implementation of the system was fairly easy. Because of our previous experience with a similar system, we were ready and working on the product as soon as we announced the switch. The system also allowed us to simplify our processes by integrating timesheets and project management directly into our CMS.

Return on Investment

  • Helps with tracking prospects through the sales/marketing funnel
  • Has led some employees to stop using the tool and going back to spreadsheets. When trying to attach targets to tags you need to do so individually and if you upload a large list you need to do this manually, one by one, and requires a lot of time. So people have gone back to spreadsheets where they could simply just cut and paste new people in.
