Aralco Inventory Management

Aralco Inventory Management is well suited for a retail operation with one or two locations that is expanding to 5+. At that point, there is small enough start-up costs and significant benefits available for this software to assist a company with the inventory and POS challenges associated with rapid growth. Aralco Inventory Management is also particularly helpful for retail companies that have complicated sales orders or a sales fulfillment time that is longer than a day or a week.

Brightpearl

It suits our business and we certainly aren't the target audience. I guess the larger you are as a business the more ERP enterprise class software you need so SMB is a good place for Brightpearl to focus.

  • Brightpearl is organized in an easy to understand manner. This is a strength because you can essentially learn your way through best practices in the early stages of your transition.
  • Brightpearls tagging, filtering, and reporting systems do quite a great job if used appropriately. These features can be used appropriately by not over complicating and adding too many filters. This is a strength because it is easy to generate client target lists in a variety of manners and the corresponding popular products in those areas for very informed sales and marketing strategies to be born.
  • Brightpearl has the ability to function with other necessary platforms. This is a strength because there are several platforms used throughout business and the better they react with each other or transfer information the better for your business.
  • Brightpearl has an exceptional support team. From start to finish the team is willing to understand your business and roadblocks offering quick and reliable solutions.

  • Lengthy set-up process that requires strong management
  • High base hardware requirements (can't be used with just a phone, for instance)
  • Inventory forecasting is not linked to any external or macro forces

  • The ability to pay all bills would help out a great deal. We want to be able to really see our profits and to do that you need all expenses to be seen.
  • A better way of showing packing lists. Right now there is only one packing list. It'd be great if the packers could decide what items are in each box being sent out and then custom packing lists printed out for each package. This way customers know exactly what is in each box.
  • Being able to have decimals on products would be huge. We sell by the square foot or parts of a square foot. 2 decimal points would help us to keep a better inventory count.

Brightpearl can be a little confusing to begin with, there are a lot of options to look through and working out the intricacies takes some time depending on what you would like to be able to do on it and what your account is set up to do. It is however very thorough and once you can work your way around it most of the functions are fairly simple to use and very detailed.

Brightpearl is always easily accessibly anywhere that you can find an internet source. I have checked our stock levels when we have been off site at Ham Rally's at home and on my way home or to work if needs be. That is probably one of the best features of this system.

Brightpearl performs very well and integrates very well with our Metapak packing and despatch system. IT also intergrates very well with Amazon and we have used Ebay although there have been complications with Ebay and stock levels. We use Ebay mostly for second hand items of which we only have one so have skipped using Brighpearl for these products.

Typically Brightpearl support is extremely helpful and quick. I gave them a 9 because occasionally, they take more than 2 business days to get back to us about our tickets.

The online training was very helpful in the areas we were shown and was implemented very well via a Skype call and an presentation done via the internet. However it was not thorough enough for all of our needs in certain areas. More training in person on site would have been very helpful.

Our previous system was known as 3EX and was a very out dated system from the 90's that was good but not very efficient and very difficult to navigate through. This system is a lot smoother to operate and after a few teething problems our issues were all resolved and we are very happy with the end result.

Brightpearl works fairly well under high stress conditions, we can have multiple people using the system at once in several different ways and this allows us to complete all of the running of the business smoothly. Sales can be put into the system while the despatch team prepares the goods to be sent out, and the accountants check and process payments while management sees to ordering in new stock swiftly.
