AVI-SPL can be a bit higher, but they are able to help with more technical support in building solutions better than others. They are slightly more expensive, but it can be worth it in the long run.
AVI-SPL listens well to their customers so that they can provide optimal solutions to the identified problems. Because of the level of sophistication that they bring to every project, they may not be well suited for smaller installations where that level of complexity isn’t necessary.
Works well if you want to 1) Fulfill your own eComm orders. 2) Want the ability to do dropship with 3rd party retailers. 3) Want LOT# control (e.g. if you're in the food industry). There are a plethora of companies that can do ecomm fulfillment but they don't have the ability to do option 2 & 3.
Install times are generally booked out a bit. I know that there is a balance between demand and onhand resources.
Pricing. They are by far one of the most expensive. I constantly need to look for ways to trim back costs because there is quite a lot baked into the quote in terms of maintenance and it feels like a cash grab in the end. I've gotten quotes elsewhere due to some of the numbers I've received and they all have come well under AVI-SPL's. Here's the list of line items from what I've seen from my last quote and this is from one conference room. Equipment Total, Installation Materials, Professional Services, Direct Costs, General and Administrative, Room Support and Maintenance, Device Maintenance. This feels egregious.
Very hard to find the products you're looking for on the site if you don't already know exactly what you're trying to find. Lots of similar/identical products with uninformative naming conventions.

The policy of automatically closing inactive accounts after 12 months, with no ability to re-open it upon customer request, is crazy.
Pricing on most commonplace IT products (outside of things like HPE servers) is not competitive at all, it's almost always cheaper to just buy on Amazon, and even when Ingram is cheaper, the difference is so negligible it's pointless to bother.
They are a great company to work with overall, but there is always room for improvement. We have had incredibly positive experiences with our main sales rep for any and all purchases. The installation team in southwest VA is lacking and lead to quite a lot of issues on a large scale project last year.
They had us replace the PC three times stating that the PSU was not strong enough to power the USB bus. The last PC had a 1500w PSU. The USB devices kept not working because they had too many USB devices connected. We had to hire another company to come out and fix this mistake as well. They redesigned the solution to get the features that we requested from the beginning and something that would work correctly
I don't believe I have directly worked with the AVI SPL global help desk. However, when we have had equipment issues, we have been able to work through our rep, who involves support or engineering services, as well as communication with the vendor directly, and that has been very helpful for us.
Given a caveat that this project had major changes to overcome, I would say AVI-SPL did about as well as any large installer out there could do under the circumstances.
AVI SPL was selected for this project based on its competitive pricing. They were also chosen based on the timeliness of their proposal since our project was under a very specific deadline that we were given by our project leadership. They met the deadline and executed the project in a manner consistent with our quality standards.
Feedback of our Training rooms is great! People rely on them for large conferences, meetings, and Trainings. The rooms are easy to use and reliable.
Having the peace of mind of a service contract keeps me doing my job instead of troubleshooting a broken room. I get to work with my customers to make sure they always have what they need.
Rooms going down is a major disruption to our business. We have dozens of conference rooms that are used constantly. Without these rooms up and running, we lose business. AVI-SPL helps keep our rooms up to date and reliable so we can keep doing business.
