Likelihood to Recommend Brainshark is very user-friendly and it’s very easy to create learning content, even a beginner could walk through it fairly easily. They also have a great support team and help site that can pretty much answer any question with video tutorials.
Read full review It works very nicely for our company site because it can easily and seamlessly embed into the site and email HTML pages. It also has picture in picture, sharing, closed captioning (CC) as basic functions. It will also show the time of the video. Because these are short-term-use videos or might get updated frequently and also are just targeting a specific audience, being able to hide or not able to show the number of views or date published (unlike YouTube) actually helps us.
Read full review Pros I love how easy creating a Brainshark and their formal learning is to use. Upload an animated Power Point, record audio, add music, or use videos etc. Their formal learning also keeps track of people in classes, allows us to invite people to a curricula, send notifications when classes are added, and update on the fly without having to resubmit all new classes. I also love that people in classes can run their own transcript and see where they are in a program, and if graded how they scored. Betsy Abney Wealth Management Academy Assistant Advocate
Read full review Ability to easily output a JSON response for requested video data. This makes it easy to work with Brightcove as partner. The read APIs are very flexible and can the output can be easily customized using cgi args. This provides great customization of the output and sorting and filtering mechanisms to find the videos you're looking for. The ability to add captions to videos is good, especially with the regulations requiring video captioning. DFXP support works great as long as the player is given the exact XML format it is looking for. Read full review Cons Brainshark has addressed a number of feature enhancements over the past two years...it really performs at a high level on a consistent basis... Ocassionally we run into a large video file >500mb that we have to address directly with support but it does not happen very often... Mike Buege Managing Partner - Director of Business Development
Read full review The code for customizing the video player can be made easier, I think it still uses BEML code. Easily accessible ready made code will help users like me to implement a cool looking player. I would love to implement Brightcove video cloud on most of the projects that I work on and I see we could use it in so many different ways but pricing is not easily available on the website. Again if I could work with someone to price for small, medium and large businesses that would be great. We are also increasing usage at the project level as the word spreads about the benefits of using Brainshark.
Read full review It took quite some time to upload and organize our video library. The amount of time it would require to relocate all this information outweighs any negative aspect I personally have with the experience. They have been pretty good to work with and from speaking with my Brightcove rep, I know some of the issues I have listed are currently being addressed and tested for future releases.
Read full review Usability The vendor offers customer support services that are reliable and diverse and this ensures that users do not get stuck anywhere in using the platform and are able to use with minimal hitches.

Read full review Reliability and Availability I'm always able to access Brainshark, whether it is to upload, record, share, download, or view presentations. Whenever I do need to contact someone at Brainshark, there is always someone there. I have never had a problem accessing a presentation and any updates to presentations are viewable immediately.
Read full review Support Rating We've found a few glitches and needed some branding updated. Each time we've called, they were super responsive and cared about my issue as much as I did! They've even helped me (and another vendor) figure out how to have this other outside software integrate with theirs to achieve an even greater presentation. I'm super impressed with their Customer Service people.
Read full review We are notified often of downtime, and I have not heard from a support rep for over a year. It really makes it hard to learn what new things are coming out and how we can take our video to the next level when there is no contact from the team on a regular cadence.
Read full review Online Training The training is easy to use. You can take as little or as much as you need. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. There is a variety of training you can take. There are mini lessons, courses, and webinars. The folks at Brainshark truly want to help you have the best presentation possible.

Read full review Alternatives Considered There are a lot of sites that allow you to host/share content in the loud. What won for me was their tracking, analytics, and reporting. At the time there was nobody even close to Brainshark and I have not seen anything since that would make me want to switch. I look forward to many years working with them.
Read full review Marketing department favors it because EVERYONE uses YouTube. Overall, YouTube offers decent features and functionality. But Brightcove offers the ability to brand and style players, and control what our users see (and so much more) and YouTube does not. For instance, on YouTube, users are presented with other videos (which could contain competitor videos).
Read full review Return on Investment Client satisfaction - we send out summaries of our big webcasts/conference calls via Brainshark. We've received lots of replies stating they love the format because they can consume the information on their own time. Time to market - before Brainshark, it took several days, if not weeks to work with a design team to get professional-looking summaries available. Now, we have the process down to a day or two. Read full review Again, there has been a huge cost savings which significantly improved our ROI There has also been less time spent on learning new technologies and training additional staff on maintaining a video server. Less time spent on the previous two points has allowed me to focus on other areas within the department that needed improvement. Read full review ScreenShots
