I think Causeview is well suited for those who are looking to track revenue and donor information in the same place. It is good to have your database with all of your contacts integrated with the same system that you use to process things such as donations and event registrations, so it saves time and we don't have to maintain separate systems for our development work and our other revenue-generating strategies. We also use reports to pull up information about donors and use that information for fundraising -- for example, donor history and things like that.

Whova is especially suited for big meetings. I would suggest hybrid meetings so if you cannot attend face-to-face, you could still benefit from the conference. Small meetings might find it difficult to pay for the service but I think they would still find it useful. Even companies could get Whova to work for them if there was some way to download the compilations, or if they were linked to online storage sites similar to Dropbox.

Pros
Causeview
- Causeview's support team is mostly helpful and quick to respond.
- Causeview integrates event registrations within Salesforce.

- The app keeps everyone up-to-date with real-time notifications of how participants are viewing presentations, promotions and notices
- It enables exhibitors to view participants, including competitors, before going live in order to ensure equal opportunity and better understanding of how best to operate
- The meeting forums, such as integrated Zoom, were robust enough technology for those with cutting-edge gear as well as those less tech-savvy who might have older components as they worked for all types of hardware.
- The app seemed to capture the "Community" feeling one gets when attending a live show with personal messages, public and private message groups, introductory procedures and an all-inclusive design suitable for any user

Cons
Causeview
- Event registration and donation pages could be better designed - not up to par with sites such as Eventbrite
- I would like to have the option for people to register with more than one e-mail address instead of creating a duplicate record each time someone uses a different e-mail.
- Some of my coworkers find Causeview confusing to use or difficult to find information.

- Mirroring Web App and Mobile App functions for sponsors (no sponsor chat in the mobile app as compared to the web app... would be nice for that to sync up)
- Better WYSIWYG web templates (they could be more dynamic for better looking and functioning event sites)
- Whova could definitely use a built-in affiliate marketing feature. This was sorely missing for us and we had to design our own using discount coupon codes, which was a crude process. Hey Summit, our former event platform, had a great affiliate program built into the software. Their implementation and delivery needed work, but this is one area Whova could corner the market even more, in my opinion.

It was an enjoyable experience. I do not know if a small organization like ours would be able to use this all the time but national events it is awesome

Whova is quite user friendly, and helpful for the conference planner. It has features such as sample emails to attendees and import abilities if you have your sessions on a spreadsheet to avoid having to enter each session manually. Another thing we didn't like was the inability to allow attendees to enter a pre-recorded session only when it is scheduled to be presented. It's either all pre-recorded can be viewed once the conference opens, or none.

We had no performance issues with our event delivery. We did have some meet-ups that had some glitches for some attendees, but I believe they were quickly resolved and were more on the part of user error than anything. Once they got the hang of it, their meet-ups went more smoothly.

Causeview's support is a lone bright spot. They are often quick to respond. They are generally helpful, although brief in their answers and explanations. I would appreciate more detailed answers to technical problems, but I do appreciate their support's problem solving ability

Rarely get answers to questions. Haven't had replies to multiple requests for customer support. Quite frustrating to have these problems, after paying 100% in advance. They don't seem to care about the customer (me) after getting my payments. Hoping that someone will respond to my requests for support sometime, but not holding my breath. They have these virtual "workshops" which are supposed to be a substitute for training. It's actually a sales presentation. You can't really interact with the presenter as they are more interested in the new prospects rather than existing customers.

In terms of my own usage, I appreciate the ability to download the application several days prior to the conference and plan for it in advance. There were some competitive features that allowed the users to gain points by posting images, questions, comments, and such which made the app very fun and interesting.

Alternatives Considered
Causeview
I did not personally select Causeview for my organization, but I have found it easy to use in comparison with other similar systems. The fact that Causeview can be added to Salesforce, and hop on our existing database, is very important to us and is one of the main reasons we continue to use the service.

We believed that Whova had better functionality and add-ons from our early conversations at an acceptable price point. This is not the case. One consideration - polling and voting - is very limiting, you can type in multiple-choice polls 'live' ie mid-session, or put them in on a timed basis but this kills the fluidity or efficiency of doing so, taking staff away to manually type and send polls. It's rife with this type of thing.

- I didn't pay to use the technology; was a recipient as a result of attending a conference. HIGH ROI for me as a made a number of new contacts even though I spent the first full day listening to presentations. Having the app allowed me to do the networking I came to do without having to be seated next to the person I wanted to meet.
