Insightly has more than a million users worldwide.
It's ok for personal use but for business use, it is begging to become a terrible system. We used it for 5 years and after that, we have decided to move to a different system, upon export of the information we started looking at and our database of contacts was so messed up with contacts merged together that don't belong together. So as our database was so corrupted we had to start over with new contact lists and rebuild everything again. I would not recommend this software unless you have your own IT department that can fix things themselves.
While there are a few things I would improve in the Health Care Providers database capabilities, overall it is extremely helpful in keeping a record of all providers so we can easily access them and add them to the order. This increases productivity by making it easier to verify eligibility, to ensure the breast pump the customer order will be covered under their insurance plan.
A very small item, but I'd love to see Insightly remove the underscores from the file name after download!
Another small hiccup, but sometimes when I click things on Insightly, the page shows a very basic HTML layout but once refreshed works
Some changes aren't always instantaneous, which can be a problem as we move very quickly at our company. But we've learned to work with "Insightly time!"
Insightly offers a great product; it's the right fit for our company at this time. We were, however, considering moving to Contactually due to their cost effective automation features. However, they lacked the project management capabilities of Insightly. As our company grows, we would love to stay with Insightly - and if they can nail the automation and add the ability to customize a little bit more, it would be the perfect solution for us. For a larger company with a more involved sales team, you might find the metrics/reporting to be a bit basic. Insightly offers great customer service even to free customers
Insightly does provide a highly customizable platform which can be driven by the user in most instances. There are times where there is a need for technical involvement from Insightly or limitations on some of the customizations. Overall, the platform is easy to use and easy to train on for individuals within our organization.
Knock on wood... I haven't had any difficulties with Insightly's availability to-date. I mostly use it on my desktop and infrequently access via my Android phone. No access issues.
The interface is very user friendly and easy to navigate. Reports can quickly be made, including custom fields.The website response has always been quick to load and has never been unavailable when I have needed access. They listen to requests for additional or custom features, and they hold workshops frequently to assist new and experienced users.
The ONLY issue that I have is there is ZERO phone customer service or training. Everything is done online or via email, which sucks in my opinion, but they always do get back to you.
Excellent support provided to deploy the app across all platforms like mobile, desktop and web and allow addition or deletion of users in quick time. It does not require any physical infrastructure and can be scaled at any level. It can be used across office locations to collaborate among users and help streamline workflow required to work on various projects.
Insightly is a very useful tool, it has the essential capabilities that a company need. Easy to use and very intuitive, so, you don't need tutorial or extra documents. They don't, they say they are a personal contact manager but I believe they are wanting large companies that have their own IT Departments as they don't really offer that good of support in my opinion and they do not have phone support. I wouldn't recommend this software to anyone for personal or business.
Insightly has far more modern applications than GoldMine. It allows for more customizations. Our reports are nicer looking and it seems much more user friendly. Insightly also seems to be more than just sales focused. GoldMine seemed to really be geared more towards a sales staff. Insightly has more capabilities for our future needs as well
(+) Being able to download my LinkedIn connections was a huge benefit. (+) I use the task function to stay on top of my follow-up activity which is another positive feature. (+) The sorting capabilities also help me pinpoint the contacts that I need to stay on top of. (-) When I add a new lead from an existing organization, I would like the organization's information to automatically populate the fields like address, website, description. I enter all that information manually. (-) My mass mailing experience has been tedious due to the email function being interrupted and crashing due to bad email addresses in some of my records. (-) Many of my leads do not have current email addresses. I wish Insightly offered a tool to help find email addresses. I spend too much time researching to find email addresses.
It is, as of now, the base of our whole operation on the customer support side. It holds all the info we need, and keeps track of everything we do. It is vital for the company, and it has been effective for everything I have had the need to do so far.
It can be a slow platform to navigate through sometimes, and that can upset customers that are in a hurry. However, that is still a valuable asset to the company.
