Likelihood to Recommend XpertHR is well suited to providing a good starting point for introducing a new policy or reviewing an existing one. The content organization helps reduce the risk of overlooking relevant considerations. A section on Trending topics provides a helpful prompt to keep current on current issues. The regular email alerts are sound, too, flagging up new resources.
Read full review Lexis Advance is highly customizable and intuitive, perfect for solo or small practitioners who lack the patience for extended training and too much searching. The contracts are also customizable and can be graduated for new practices so you don't go broke in year one paying for research. I do wish there was more contact with a dedicated account rep, and perhaps not with sales. In a larger firm, you can stack more features and content as needed. I probably would go back in time and renegotiate my contract, which stepped up quite a lot in year two and will step up again in year 3 to what I think will be an uncomfortable level. Also, Lexis has maybe one too many brands and could stand a redesign of the main home page.
Read full review Pros Template policies are perfect, up to date and read very well The manager training sections are great as you can build them into your own sessions and provide accurate answers Their themed packs are excellent resources when you are venturing into new guidance, for example supporting menopause in the workplace Read full review I like the annotated statutes. That is typically where I start my searches. I seem to find more relevant case law on Lexis than I have through Westlaw. Their training and research attorneys are very helpful. Read full review Cons The employment law service is a bit too basic. The lawyer often gives you very basic or scripted advice that is not tailored to the situation needed The functionality search sometimes is not great. You risk getting lost between hundreds of articles without finding what you really need Sometimes the articles are too lengthy and you only need a very quick response Read full review The notes from cases function is not as strong as other competitors Lacks some features that more novel sources use Costly Read full review Likelihood to Renew It depends on renewal price
Read full review Usability It's great and mostly user friendly. Some of the team have skipped over great information in there as the site was not as intuitive as expected, e.g. finding particular templates
Read full review Very intuitive, easy to use visual qualitative assessments, and I like that they don't "summarize" rules but give exact quotes from cases. The product is super customizable and you can try before you buy. Unlike their main competitor, I don't feel like they tricked me or set me up to purchase more content that I don't need--so in terms of service and overall functionality, they are superior to the competition.
Read full review Reliability and Availability I have never, in 14 years, known XpertHR to be offline!
Read full review Performance The site is extremely responsive and loads quickly. Huge searches appear immediately
Read full review Support Rating I requested access to an additional country and they came back very quickly and quickly granted me access
Read full review Haven't reached out except for password help but the response was quick. A couple times it locked me out for no reason
Read full review Implementation Rating I already knew how to use it so did not need support with this
Read full review Alternatives Considered I have not directly used it but used it by passing on questions and queries to my HR network to obtain their advice. Often I felt that they do not provide direct advice to directly address my concerns or queries but more generic feedback that might be applicable or not. I think their advice often provides multiple and vague outcomes but not tailored to the outcome the business wants
Read full review Lexis Advance and Westlaw do the same thing and are very comparable. We actually use both. If Lexis Advanced doesn't have content we are looking for, it can usually be found in Westlaw. They compliment each other well. If I had to pick one over the other I would choose Lexis Advanced, but it's close.
Read full review Scalability WE only use it in HR but, I have no doubt that it could be scaled across other sites / teams.
Read full review Return on Investment saves so much valuable time when updating policies which is huge as we have a small team and time is limited. Normally, it saves time on hours or research as you can find it all on the site, including salary review data. Reduces the cost of using employment lawyers all the time for policy updating and other advice. It's like a one-stop shop that enables the user to find everything they need on a multitude of topics with extensive information that requires minimal time by the user, but to search for that information individually would take hours, if not days, in some cases. Read full review It's had a positive impact in finding more cases that are on point for my cases. It was actually cheaper than their competitor. The natural language search is better than the competitor. Read full review ScreenShots
