Well suited for:1. Large and medium organisations who have the capacity to invest in IAM roadmap for long term. 2. Organisations with and existing oracle and partner applications ecosystem. 3. Scenario where the user base is on the higher side and organisations looking to scale up in near future. 4. Organisation with complex workflow need in identity management process. Not well suited for 1. Small organisations or even medium ones which have a lesser number of applications 2. Scenarios where custom connectors need to be developed but at the same time turnaround should be quick. 3. Scenarios when features you are looking for are missing, getting them added could take a lot of effort. 4. UI is not very user-friendly and needs to be customised. 5. Takes time to stablise post going live

SAP Customer Data Cloud (Gigya)

Gigya is a good product overall. It's great for going from "non-social" to 'highly-social" very rapidly. But as needs become more complex over time, the value starts to decrease a bit.

  • It scales particularly well, going from a basic platform to a complex one using customisation and extensions.

  • Gigya provide a range of flexible APIs which support the development of bespoke engagement tools. They also provide out of the box engagement tools like comments and reactions.
  • Gigya's identity query tool makes it straightforward for users to query the user database using straightforward SQL queries.
  • Gigya's cloud storage is a safe and secure alternative to self-hosted databases.

  • Nothing obvious. Some editors and traffickers want a more detailed analytics package. Gigya reports are pretty basic. There is a strong need for more advanced analytics and automated reports.
  • We have talked to Gigya about it, and they are working on it.

Overall good product and somewhat reliable when used in a specific manner. However, there are cons like unending bugs and no well-defined upgrade path. The product could have been more flexible and lite in terms of organisational infra needs. OIM is a robust product but other vendors are almost on-par now.

Admin panel is very clean and effective and manageable. Can't say enough good things about the UI. It's easy to use and enables to configure embeddable widgets by simply copying and pasting Java Script examples.

There are some latency issues. The 24 hour caching problem mentioned earlier is a problem. Sometimes the Gigya system makes two calls instead of a single call if we go directly to the social platform. For this reason, it's sometimes more efficient to go direct rather than use Gigya.

Fantastic support team. Very proactive. Not only do they answer questions in a timely manner, but they proactively show us whats coming in next releases. I can also share what I would like to see. They are very honest about what they can do, and what is not likely to be on the roadmap.
I never get any push-back from them about the hours of support. They are always willing to help.
They are also great about suggesting best practices that we might not have thought about. In other words, "Have you thought about doing it this way...".

We had multiple conference calls initially to get up and running. The developers had frequent status calls. But we generally didn't require much training. We have a large technical staff that didn't need much had-holding.

SAP Customer Data Cloud (Gigya)

The three names that we were given to evaluate against Gigya by our tiger team were Bitium, OneLogin, and Janrain. The last one was just too new to the game, so after a brief review, we passed. We moderately considered Bitium, but OneLogin seemed to win against them more than they lost. In the end, it came down to Gigya versus OneLogin, and we decided to go with Gigya because of the overwhelming reviews of the outstanding customer service.
