CrowdCompass is an event management software system offered by Cvent.https://media.trustradius.com/product-logos/UM/Ez/FBR2NH3GET89.JPEGCrowdCompass is worth it!We use the CrowdCompass Mobile App for our two largest events each year. Since we started using the app, we no longer print handouts for individual sessions, we have additional revenue from banner ad sales, and we have trackable attendee engagement data, which makes reporting to our stakeholders so much easier.,Provides attendees with their personalized schedules at their fingertips. Facilitates networking through the ability to set appointments and send messages with other attendees, and inspires competition with The Game and Click challenges. Gives attendees the ability to view handouts, take notes and download the information to their personal computers when they get back to their offices.,The session surveys are easy to overlook on the session detail screen When you create a new event by copying a previous event, the survey questions don't copy. That means you have to recreate your surveys from scratch each time. On the list of invitations that have been sent, you get an exclamation point next to anyone whose email didn't go through, but there is no other detail provided about the problem.,10,We don't have to print handouts for each session when we use CrowdCompass, that saves a lot of money and a lot of paper. Our social media posts and attendee engagement has quadrupled since we began using the mobile app. The Click game has created a great competition among attendees trying to get to the top of the leader board.,,Microsoft 365 BusinessCrowdCompass - Excellent tool for any size eventCurrently we use CrowdCompass for our regional events in North and South America (150 - 650 attendees) as well as our 3 annual global conferences (1500-3000 attendees) as a hub for information on our schedules, sessions and handouts, event communications, and as a social media hub. The best part of it to me is the Map feature where a diagram of the event location can be uploaded and then any area on the map can be pinpointed and associated with other content throughout the app. This means precise locations can be easily pointed out and found by anyone using the feature and it is invaluable for events where there are a lot of different specific spaces. We use the CrowdCompass Mobile App for our two largest events each year. Since we started using the app, we no longer print handouts for individual sessions, we have additional revenue from banner ad sales, and we have trackable attendee engagement data, which makes reporting to our stakeholders so much easier.
  • Provides attendees with their personalized schedules at their fingertips.
  • Facilitates networking through the ability to set appointments and send messages with other attendees, and inspires competition with The Game and Click challenges.
  • Gives attendees the ability to view handouts, take notes and download the information to their personal computers when they get back to their offices.
  • The session surveys are easy to overlook on the session detail screen
  • When you create a new event by copying a previous event, the survey questions don't copy. That means you have to recreate your surveys from scratch each time.
  • On the list of invitations that have been sent, you get an exclamation point next to anyone whose email didn't go through, but there is no other detail provided about the problem.
We like CrowdCompass because it is integrated with Cvent, so all the information we enter in Cvent gets pushed out to the mobile app. That saves a ton of time on our end because we don't have to re-enter all of the details twice.

Currently we use CrowdCompass for our regional events in North and South America (150 - 650 attendees) as well as our 3 annual global conferences (1500-3000 attendees) as a hub for information on our schedules, sessions and handouts, event communications, and as a social media hub. Additionally, we utilize gamification and banner ad sells to improve the outreach of out exhibitors and sponsors as well as bring in additional revenue. Finally, we regularly host popular giveaways for our users at our events using the scavenger hunt.
  • Provides a single source for important event information, notifications, and scheduling/agenda assistance for our participants.
  • Easy to pull metrics on adoption, use, and session feedback
  • Excellent Live-Polling, Q&A, and resources for Speakers
  • Easy Build/Set-up
  • Gamification Features - While popular with our users, limited ability to customize or alter the features and set-up.
  • Finding Session handouts can be difficult for attendees - would be helpful to have a central hub for their downloads.
  • No duplication of events means a lot of time repeating features of a build for repeat events.
CrowdCompass is wonderful for medium to large events with a variety of sessions, speakers, and breakout rooms or locations. It's an excellent tool for planners to push messages and information to attendees and a great way to see feedback or interactions through the social wall. The tool is popular with our users with adoption pushing up into 80% and 90% for our recent events.

  • Notifications do not always go through to some smartphones.
CrowdCompass is great for large groups of people. This is especially the case when you have sessions or activities that the attendee is allowed to choose from. You can choose them in real time. This is great for if you bump into someone and want to attend the session that they are attending but also if you decided that you did not want to attend. You could cancel and allow that spot to be opened up for someone else.

I never thought I could create an app for our event all on my own, but it was surprisingly easy! And the fact that it interfaces with Cvent makes it an incredible add on for any event. I would not have benefitted from our previous two events nearly as much without it.

  • Single sign-on from Cvent and CrowdCompass
  • More included features, everything was an opp for an upsell
  • Modernized interface
The app is easy to use, easy to update, and we were able to get the job done. We had to do a lot of workarounds to make the app work for us. I would say be ready to have a super simple interface or put someone who knows technology and workarounds in charge. The app is great for checking in and works well with Salesforce and Marketo.

  • Grouping attendees understanding how grouping works and if you have attendees going to see multiple things but only one them to see a certain selection.
  • Social Media integrating Instagram and Facebook, not just Twitter and Flickr
Suited for groups of over 50 for both internal, external and larger events (Conferences, Orientations, Graduations). It allows all information to be updated and at the hands of the attendee within minutes with all the answers there (instead of one-off emails/phones calls).

I would not recommend for smaller 40 and under groups as long as it is a basic meeting with not a lot of features being used (Polling, Surveys), everyone is staying together as on group as the system may be too robust!

  • Good reporting tools for capturing survey feedback and attendee engagement
  • Additional features to drive engagement, such as customizable games
  • Social sharing features are good, but could be made simpler to get more folks engaged. Would also be great to have Instagram
  • Even more robust reporting and analytics
Highly recommended for any event, regardless of size. It was particularly well suited for providing detailed event information to attendees, and giving them the chance to socialize, network, and immerse themselves in the event experience. As an event app, I can't think of scenarios where it is "less appropriate" during an event, it serves its purpose well.

We use it for our yearly Customer Conference. It is an amazing resource at the conference. It holds all of our information for our staff, such as schedules, alerts for meetings, maps, and program agendas. For our attendees, they are able to connect with each other and vendors, check their schedules, ask live Q&A, post pictures, and play our game. Our exhibitors use it to secure meetings with our attendees.
  • Their Sessions tabs allow for live polling and live Q&A inside each session, as well as downloading the decks and connecting with the speakers.
  • It allows for different push notifications per group. So your staff can be reminded of their daily meetings, while your attendees are reminded where breakfast is.
  • It is really fully customization to your show, you can add as many pages, sessions, etc for what's right for you.
  • The game is not customizable.
  • It would be nice if LeadCapture was part of the app.
This is perfect for any corporate event spanning more than a day, or with more than one session. I would not use it for a one session event, or a webinar. However, any time you are having multiple days with multiple sessions, this would be ideal to use. Even a single day event with a lot of concurrent sessions.

The app is used for all internal events and for clients! It can be used by any department that has an event!
  • Attendee engagement
  • Networking
  • Session sign ups
  • Notification alerts in site
  • Polling
  • Live Q&A
  • Not to the much design flexibility
  • Not enough customization
It is best used for events that have sessions and need attendee engagement! It is less appropriate for events that are small and lack the need for attendee engagement.

We use CrowdCompass to augment our event experience. We no longer have to print out programs (which are outdated the minute we send them to the printer due to changes). We can also interact with our attendees with games, and get photos that we can use for marketing during and after the event.
  • Linking with Cvent, we can push updates to the app via Cvent so we don't have to update in 2 places.
  • With push notifications (both scheduled & unscheduled), we can update our attendees.
  • Integration from Cvent to CrowdCompass is great, but the other way around is not 100% yet.
  • There is some localization, but only on the parts of the app that are hardcoded; there isn't yet a way to do localization for the parts that one can edit.
If you use Cvent, CrowdCompass is amazing with the integration. If you don't use Cvent, it's still great to use with how easy it is to set up the app and to have multiple events running at the same time within the app.

We use CrowdCompass for our Client's corporate events and training meetings. We use it across the entire organization. It really helps to cut down on printing and spending collateral since all of the information can be put in an attendees hands.
  • Design and Buildout
  • Push Notifications
  • Branding for your Event/Organization
  • Time turnaround for customer support questions
I believe CrowdCompass is a huge time and money saver. It is efficient to build the applications and cost effective in comparison to print materials.

CrowdCompass Review: "Good Place to Start with Event App"

Trying to incorporate it into our event both pre-event to drum up excitement, on-site to enhance the attendee experience as well as communicate important and often urgent messages to all attendees. Used by the Event Team within the marketing department. Addresses the issue of needing to streamline the event experience on-site.
  • Streamlines the process of creating an app.
  • Helping planners understand the value of the app and how best to utilize it.
  • Collect attendee engagement at the event.
  • Continued flexibility in the build is always appreciated.
  • More recommendations on how best to incorporate the app into the overall event experience.
While I am not extremely well versed in the program/platform as we are relatively new to understanding its capabilities, it is a great option for those companies or event planning teams that are looking to start incorporating an event app into their event strategy but don't necessarily understand where or how to start.

CrowdCompass Review: "A good mobile app tool with lots of integration capabilities"

Score 7 out of 10

Since it is a Cvent product, any event setup in Cvent can be integrated into CrowdCompass so you can have a full featured app almost completely built without having to do the same work you already did to set the event up originally. Additional customization and options are available to tailor the app experience so it is unique and more useful as a tool for attendees. Registration, session rooms, exhibitor booths, meals and breaks can all be pinned and found directly on the map or from their own detail pages.
  • Integration
  • The Map tool
  • Ease of use
  • Event apps are becoming consolidated into one platform app that contains events from all the clients who use it.
  • No branding of your own app with your own name and your attendees having to download a third-party app with events other than just yours available in it.
I've been using this for our big events for the last few years and it has worked out very well. Some of the login features are quirky, but they keep adding updates and features to make everything run better and more smoothly. It can be customized for many looks and you can use your own launch icons that you create to really make the app branded to your events. The attendee experience has been very positive through the app because it gives them the ability to network and makes everything from the program and speaker information to on site locations easy to find. If you use other Cvent software, it can all be synced so it saves a lot of time without having to enter the same details in two or more places.

CrowdCompass Review: "User-Friendly Meeting App!"

We use CrowdCompass across the organization for internal meetings to ensure our staff are well connected and have all the tools they need without having to consult paper agendas and other collateral.
  • Customized home screen.
  • Easy customization.
  • Simple notifications.
  • Graphics are still a bit hard to customize without a design background.
  • Would like to see a Flex build UI with drag and drop features.
  • Toggling between preview and build mode is a little cumbersome.
Great for meetings and events where you drive all content and you know attendees can use the app for multiple events. It’s not as applicable for small events without robust content and/or attendees who have no other use for an app.

We used the app for our company user conference. It was used for scheduling, sending event alerts and reminders, communicating with attendees, and posting event content.
  • Fairly good in-app communication platform.
  • Look and feel was good and on-brand.
  • Good that it syncs with your LinkedIn profile.
  • The sign-in process didn't work for a strangely large number of our users/attendees. Had to have the app admin sign us in on the backend.
  • It's link to Cvent. We had a lot of operational difficulties with using Cvent.
For managing a list of contacts/attendees at an event, scheduling capabilities, notifications, and general event info, it was great. I think that there are many things however that can just as easily be done with native apps that everyone is already using anyway—a bit strange to ask users to use a new app to do something that they are already very used to doing with other apps.

CrowdCompass Review: "An Easy App for Onsite Use"

Score 8 out of 10

We use CrowdCompass to create a cohesive transition from our registration to the event, through their event mobile app capabilities. It allows us to customize the app design for our clients, without having to spend an arm and a leg on creating a new app. It allows our attendees to stay connected while onsite and get up to date information on the event schedule.
  • Customization of design
  • Realtime updates
  • Collecting insights for sponsors and clients.
  • It would be nice if you could white label the app.
  • Do live check-ins for attendees
  • Further customization and links to sponsor sites.
CrowdCompass is perfect for clients who would benefit from using an app on-site for their event. Really an event that has multiple moving parts, like a conference or seminar. CrowdCompass is great for customization without having to pay a ridiculous price for a custom app. Where it does potentially fall short is for clients who want their own white-labeled app that is highly customizable from a back-end perspective.

Our department uses CrowdCompass for all of our North America regional Professional Development events and our annual global conference. By having information readily available for participants on a very straightforward app, we're cutting our use of paper collateral in an effort to be more sustainable. We're also able to communicate with attendees in a more timely manner.
  • Push notifications provide fast dissemination of information.
  • Scheduling is straightforward and legible.
  • Compatible on at least 2 mobile operating systems and has a web view, perfect for everyone.
  • Invitation emails can be confusing
  • Re-sending invitation emails is a bit of a hassle
  • Layout could be better
I find that CrowdCompass is well suited for events of 200-2,500 people. It doesn't make sense for smaller events from a financial standpoint (at least from our experience). We have not trialed it for events larger than 2,500 attendees, so we cannot speak to it from that sense. Also not fantastic with less technologically-literate participants.

CrowdCompass Review: "Great Event App with all the features you need"

We use CrowdCompass at our flagship events such as our annual conference. The app has really helped us to streamline communication and distribution of materials for attendees, increased attendee engagement through live polling, live Q&A, gamification and enhanced networking capabilities and helped us to reach our goal of going paperless at these events.
  • The app is easy to navigate and set up so it does not require a lot of time and training to implement.
  • Includes all of the features you need such as live polling, live Q&A, surveys, gamification, attendee messaging and contact sharing, etc., which has had a significant effect on attendee engagement at our flagship events.
  • As a leader in the events industry, Cvent is always introducing new updates and features to stay up to date with the latest technology and trends in the market.
  • It is fairly expensive and you pay per event so it isn’t feasible for us to be able to use at our smaller scale events.
  • Login process can be a little confusing and requires several steps but they have made improvements to this process.
Well suited for large conferences, trade shows or multi-day events. It is great for encouraging attendee engagement through features such as live polling, live Q&A, gamification, social wall, etc. and it is great for networking as it allows attendees to send 1:1 messages to each other, schedule appointments and exchange contact details directly through the app. It is not well suited for smaller scale events due to the cost.

It is used by our Event planners of our Education Team and by our Leaders/Volunteers etc. through Cvent app.
As a non-profit organization, this really helps us promote our brand, keep our volunteers and attendees/participants connected, engaged and productive. We house our events and year-round
communications within a single mobile app, making an easily accessible
and centralized location for all your end-user information. The check-in and badge pickup process have been refined after using this app.
  • Managing Registrations, Member Lists, and real-time Communications have been very effective and easier.
  • Integrating CrowdCompass with onsite attendance tracking and appointment scheduling creates a more seamless experience for attendees and an event that’s easier to manage. By integrating with CrowdCompass, all our Cvent data will easily transfer directly into your mobile event app once you’ve input your event information and registrants into OnArrival.
  • Cloning events makes things much faster, we just have to decide the components and make adjustments.
  • Measure, Track Engagement/Capture Feedback Surveys are all at one place.
  • Social presence using this app.
  • I am happy with all existing features, need to explore many features.
Everything has been through Cvent’s integrated platform and has been well suited for managing revenue/costs, staff resourcing, communications and streamline events at every stage from registration to post-event surveys, re-marketing, etc.

Review: "Crowdcompass Enhances Your Event Program"

Score 10 out of 10
Vetted Review

My company uses CrowdCompass for our annual company client conference. We use it in lieu of an agenda booklet and it goes above and beyond just replacing that. It allows us to be interactive with our attendees, gathers feedback from them on sessions and events, notifies them directly of event changes, connects them with other attendees, and so much more.
  • Connects users with one another. You can easily contact and send a message to network with another user and schedule meetings.
  • Gives you the ability to contact and reach all of your attendees with important updates and information via push notifications.
  • Allows you to gather critical feedback on your events via live polls and surveys. What worked well, what didn't, to make informed decisions on how to optimize future events.
  • I think the design and color schemes can be more unique and updated.
  • More reporting metrics.
Crowdcompass is well suited for all types of events, especially those with a large number of attendees so you can easily connect with them. It can be used for events with sponsors or smaller events without sponsors or exhibitors. It is less appropriate for small meetings, where the group can more easily connect with one another.

It's being used as our events mobile app. We include details for travel, agenda, and notifications to attendees and staff for updates.
  • Push notifications are great when changes are made to alert the attendees and staff.
  • Fast updating of the agenda sessions when our teams need to change things.
  • Smooth downloading.
  • Publishing the app: we have to re-upload our images for the publishing to complete.
Making the boxes bigger when copying an existing event so they are easier to see so they don't get missed in the process.

CrowdCompass is being used by our event teams across all divisions (5 total) of the company. CrowdCompass is used for both internal and external attendee events which include training session, hospitality events, and information sessions. We are trying to implement more green initiatives and this one one way to reduce needing printed materials on site.
  • Personalized Agenda
  • Ability to share links, documents, presentations, etc.
  • Customer Service
  • API integrations
  • Live Chat
CrowdCompass is great for multiple session events, when you have speaker information to share, when you want you attendees to connect with each other live, when you want immediate feedback, when you want to share documents and links, and when you want to cut down on printed materials.

CrowdCompass is not best for a single session event. You wouldn't be able to fully utilize all the great features with such a small program.

We use CrowdCompass at our annual customer conference to inform/engage our attendees during the event. We use it, along with the integration to Cvent Event Management.
  • Simple setup
  • Simple for the user
  • Relatively modern feel
  • Could improve some integration points with Cvent.
  • Additional customization with certain features.
  • More ways to work with the Support department (can only call or email).
Overall, it's very easy to set up and works well for us. The issues I have are minor in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn't see us leaving this platform because of the integration to Cvent.

This app platform is one that will do just about everything you would need in a program for the right price. They look into many features and navigation options gearing you towards building a social media network during your entire program . Many features are available but not necessarily known right away. A deeper dive into this software can really open up your creative side. A mobile iPhone, Android and iPad friendly version is available along with the "web" view for those who dare to be different with their Windows and BB devices or just want to play on their PCs instead.
