What is Microsoft Teams?
Microsoft Teams combines video conferencing software with team collaboration tools. The communications platform allows MS Office users to conduct conference calls and share files via SharePoint, and join or initiate a group chat.
Microsoft Teams features three tiers of pricing. The first is a subscription-less, free option that offers the same features as the other two tiers but does not offer administration tools like analytics and access to on-premise servers, or support features like 24/7 phone and web support. The second and third tiers are based on the size of your business and its conferencing needs. Its “Office 365 Business Premium” option starts at $12.50 a month per user, with a required annual commitment, and its “Office 365 E3” option for enterprises starts at $20 a month per user, also with a required annual commitment.
Key Features
Meetings: Meet with teams of 10 or 10,000. Host audio, video, and web
conferences with anyone inside or outside your organization or go big with live
events.
Calling: Its Phone System feature enables PBX capabilities including
call control in Office 365 and replaces on-premises PBX. Its calling features
are customizable to fit your organization’s unique needs.

(1-25 of 136)Could do better
- removes the pain from scrolling through endless long mail threads with mail signatures taking up most of the screen space
- quick way to reach out to colleagues via message or voice call
- integration with landline phone
- share documents with certain colleagues or external partners
- sometimes choses the wrong microphone (internal instead of headset) resulting in bad audibility
- new version 2 lacks some features from old version
- often it doesn't ring in the mobile app
In principle I am very disappointed when using Microsoft Teams.
In my experience, there are times that it just doesn't work.
- On a desktop or laptop computer I think it does work quite well but, in my experience, on mobiles it's a different story
- On my two mobile devices it just doesn't work. But the company is committed to the use of Microsoft Teams at the moment.
- Due to employee complaints we may move to another app.
- Hardware that was installed to support Microsoft Teams meetings in our meeting rooms do not work at all. I think it's horrendous.
- In my opinion, if people out there willing to spend money on it, I would be very careful and I would propose a proper assessment to be done prior to making an agreement.
Teams makes Teamwork efficient and fun :-)
- Screen-sharing capability
- Team chat
- Force-call attendees who are late to the call
- The polls functionality is hard to find
- Presenting a document and seeing people's faces is not easy
- Muting a participant requires multiple clicks
Microsoft Teams - Gives a local experience to a remote employee
- Voice calling
- Chatting &
- Team meetings (Audio & Video)
- File sharing
- Audio quality in meetings
- Conferencing without any voice problems
- Easy File sharing
- Integration of AI for writing suggestions
- Facility of voice message like WhatsApp
- Rest all is good
A very good fit for any organization where remote working culture is promoted.
I really don't see any situation where Teams is not appropriate
Teams a Good tool for an organization
- we use channel-wise teams like production channel, quality channel, UAT channel
- We use video conference for team awards and celebrations
- we schedule the calendar for the whole month for planning the activites
- In mobile it is lagging they have to improve in mobile function working area
- When we are using it for town hall meetings it will be hang because of huge audience
- Delay in Notification need to improve
If we have less users it is not much effectively used so it is good for larger users to manage the work in the any organization .
Microsoft Teams definitely improved collaboration and team work in our company.
It's great tool for personal and business needs!
- Team work simplification
- Integrated with other Microsoft products
- Instant Chats
- Video Calls can be better
- Confusing File Structure
- Improve Search. There's no possibility to go to the original message, it just shows you all found messages in one window
- chat with colleagues in a private chat
- make audio/video calls
- host online meetings
- attend and host virtual conferences
Microsoft Teams a centralized application
- Setting up meetings and record them
- Integrates natively with Outlook and one drive/Sharepoint
- Create teams channels for specific tasks/projects and the conversation will be backed up along with files.
- When you download files, the application can lag and even crash, this portion needs to be improved.
- One to one calls cant be recorder unless you set up a meeting.
- slowness when opening a file in the app, like a excell sheet.
- Add meeting reminders when the meeting is about to start similar to Outlook.
Teams reviewed
- Presence
- Messaging
- Usability across platforms
- Screen sharing ease of use
- Conference call delegates
Web Teams doesn't work well with Chrome and you may need to install App (Android).
- Provide a means for chatting with other members of our team
- Schedule teams meetings without need for a 3rd party app
- Create teams groups to disseminate information
- Teams meetings frequently drop calls and needs to be re-dialed.
- Searching for words in Teams is not the best.
- Great user experience
- Chat functionality embedded within each meeting
- Well sync'd with Outlook
- Can crash every now and then
- Camera freezes - need to fix this defect which seems quite regular
- Mobile app video call experience is lacking
Not well suited - if using outside of work and users don't have the app downloaded on their machine
Software that makes sense but is not yet perfect.
- One meeting place for teamworking
- Instant messaging between members of a team
- Intégration with OneNote
- Intégration with ToDo
- Conflict with the choice of input when using headphones with an integrated microphone and an independent microphone, a problem that does not exist on zoom.
- Changing from one access to another for people with multiple accesses to Microsoft Office 365
- Access to the Teams universe for people outside the company who must have the same levels of access (subcontractor, volunteers in the case of non-profit organizations).
Love using Microsoft Teams!
- Connect people immediately
- Has both video & audio functionality
- Intertwined with Outlook
- Restarts are almost expected
- Not too glitchy
- Honestly excellent product overall
- provides ability to organise folders and files (good front end to SharePoint)
- provides great use of communication between team members and external parties
- provides great integration with other apps such as Microsoft power platform, Miro etc.
- The search function could be made better- especially for finding things within chats
- It is a little annoying going to previous pages within Microsoft Teams, at times i feel like it would be nice to open things in a new windows
- sometimes Microsoft Team crashes - but very rarely and that can be a pain
Amazing software for team management and collaboration
- It is very simple to use and setup.
- Lot of options available for the organisers like Breakout rooms etc.
- It has a user friendly interface.
- The feature of notifications in the mobile application could be improved. Sometimes notifications of different teams are not visible and are only visible when the application is opened.
- It uses lots of computational resources while running and thus, slows down the system sometimes.
- It allows a few channels per team. The number of channels could be increased for better productivity.
It's pricey but it can be a necessity
- It does not consume to much bandwidth based on number of participants
- It has easy navigation for use
- It can work on mobile
- Provide more background choices during meetings
- Have an easy access button for help options
- Provide description on the icons available on the interface
Great teamwork possible in Microsoft Teams!
- Real-time updated Microsoft Teams status of other users (i.e. immediate status changes of 'online', 'away', and 'busy' amongst all healthcare organization computers).
- Integration with Microsoft Outlook is excellent - workplace meeting invitations accepted on Outlook will synchronize with Microsoft Teams automatically and allow easy viewing (e.g. accepted Outlook invite to video teaching session will be integrated into Microsoft Teams calendar).
- Aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interface - easy to initiate workplace 'chats' with staff present on a particular day.
- Integrating a crop tool to edit screenshots sent over Microsoft Teams would be useful! Currently have to use the Paint app first.
- Having a wider range of GIFs and emoticons available for use on the platform.
- Intermittent problems with connectivity soon after password changes for 2-3 days. Requires manual login however Microsoft Teams soon synchronizes with the new password.
Microsoft Teams is the best tool for company to connect with people
- casual chat
- team meetings
- quick evaluation and appraisal
- share information and planning projects
- More choice of background
- More emoji's
- More video clips to show how to use it beyond a team collaboration tool

MS Teams Review
- Voice
- Chat
- One-stop shop for SharePoint, Office365, Forms, and other apps
- Project management and project assignments
- Video communications and demonstrations
- Assignment tracking
- Scheduling calendar
- Stream video
- Audio/Video Communications
- Text Communications (chat)
- Project Management (handoffs, status, deadlines, etc)
- Surveys, Quizzes/Exams
- Calendar
- Stream is a little clunky and not part of the standard enterprise license
- Multiple views in one browser capability is badly needed (example: I need chat, files, project blocks, calendar all open at the same time, but it won't let me do that). To get multiple panels, I have to run 3-4 different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge) concurrently, plus the app.
See who's available and get a response right away
- Integrates with Outlook and SharePoint
- Instant messaging
- Stores documents and notes
- Hard to tell if someone is actually "away"
- Missing some Lync functionality
- Hard to find in SharePoint where docs are kept
The software I use in attending virtual meetings and events.
- good quality of audio and video
- tools that needed during meeting
- sync in my calendar schedule
- easy to use
- sync of the same alignment of messages in chat box.
Microsoft Teams makes it easy for Teams to just work.
In the beginning adoption was slow and it was hard to get our staff and clients to move over.
However when the Covid Pandemic started we kept on sending out client/user comms about the features of Microsoft Teams.
We suddenly saw major adoption of Microsoft Teams and I can say this is one of the best collaboration and unified communication tools out there.
We use the Teams Channels for our Team collaboration and work. Sharing documents with users that need to work on it at the same time really works well. I have seen over 400 users work on a single document at the same time and we had no issues.
The Teams meetings work really well, Virtual Backgrounds are excellent, and is a major improvement compared to Skype for Business.
Finally, the multiple integration options with other apps, or the online web access functions are really great features. You are able to do everything in the Teams web app you can do in the desktop app.
- Great collaboration tools and experience
- Really good online meeting and meeting collaboration experience and tools
- The Teams web function works really well and I sometimes prefer it over the desktop app
- The additional add-ins available makes it truly great
- The chat functions in Teams need some refinement and should give user options to move the Chat function to a more traditional IM style window as well. I know there was movement into the direction but I still thing improvement would be needed.
The online meetings are really great and works really well with live captioning, etc.
The Teams online web version works just as great as the desktop clients.
- Call transcription
- Live captions
- Call recording
- Calendar integration
- Outlook integration
- Easy to create and communicate within groups
- Notifications are sometimes hit and miss
- Intermittent call drops
