We are using Mode to monitor ongoing financial transactions written to our SQL data tables in real-time. Mode provides perhaps one of the really nice and standardized ways we are able to view transaction data from our users' activity as a fintech. Otherwise, we would have to view it from raw SQL data which can be quite "ugly".
  • It allows me to undertake data visualization tasks by creating really insightful charts and dashboards
  • It allows for easy sharing and work collaboration on data analysis tasks
  • Mode has an easier to use SQL editor as well
  • I love how it organizes all our SQL data tables into easy-to-view data we can draw insights on
  • I did not like that it does not give me a real-time refresh ability for the data we are fetching from our SQL data tables and I have to run my SQL script every time I needed to see the up-to-date data
  • I also did not like the fact that Mode is not optimized for mobile web view, this makes it use mostly desktop computer limited for me
  • Sometimes it has limited chart options when it comes to data visualization
Mode is well suited for scenarios where one has to do queries in both SQL and R programming allowing for dynamic data pulls. This along with its ability to schedule reports allows for collaborative work with different teams. But unfortunately, it has limited options when it comes to visual charts. Mode also allows for seamless display of data. The SQL environment is quite intuitive and easy to use with chart-building and calculated fields tools stacked on top of the underlying query making the data more accessible to people who have limited SQL knowledge. Unfortunately, Mode can also be quite slow in handling larger data sets and its error handling is not as expansive as one may want.

  • It has allowed us to monitor ongoing financial transactions written to our SQL data tables in real-time and that helps us to monitor user transaction activities in real-time
  • Using Mode we have been able to also track users who undertake fraudulent financial transactions; preventing financial losses to our users
  • Mode's collaborative abilities have been very helpful in sharing transaction monitoring workload across our compliance and cybersecurity team
Because of how Mode does not require a lot of SQL knowledge and how developing charts are more of a drag and drop building almost everyone can pick up using Mode. It is also flexible in giving users a way to view your data how you want. Plus it has a lot of in-app tutorials for users.
Because as users of Mode, there have been issues we report that still persist on Mode; even when new updates are rolled in; An example of this is buggy error reporting that still persists in Mode as a software. Yes, they do respond to email queries but it takes a little bit of time for actual feedback on reported issues.

I use Mode Analytics to set up custom dashboards for monitoring key business metrics, from customer sentiments and escalation statistics, to detailed app engagement data. The scope is typically limited to the web and in-app help/support sections of the experience. It's particularly helpful for monitoring project impact after deploying significant changes to the product.
  • Customizable dashboards
  • Versital metrics and dynamic inputs
  • Intuitive interface
  • Exportation of results
  • Date ranges aren't always the most intuitive to set, strangely
  • Faster refresh rates would be ideal
  • Would love more dynamic mobile device integration (alerts, etc)
After launching a new contact pathway in a help experience, Mode Analytics can help provide insight into the sentiments from users as well as the engagement with any written content. Numeric outputs are easier to manage, whereas more nuanced/emotional feedback is sometimes hard to quantify (though not impossible if you get creative).
  • Customizable dashboards
  • Dynamic inputs
  • Wide range of visualization options

  • Empowered me to make data based decisions
  • Made data collection more fast, efficient, and useful
  • Identified when new features need tweaks or course corrections
In my opinion Mode Analytics has an edge on much of the competition due to the intuitive and powerful custom dashboard creation interface. I can create dashboards for stakeholders that are self explanatory and easy to make conclusions from. In other respects, it's very much at pace with similar tools and services.
