Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now
We are an HR department of one and presently ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is only being used by myself for payroll and as an HRIS system excluding time and attendance. The goal is to roll out WFN for employee self-service within the next 12 months as well as add time and attendance in the near future.
- We have employees in 10+ states and WFN enables us to manage the various aspects of payroll needs including localized taxes through one source/portal.
- Admittedly I have not taken the time to familiarize myself with all of the reporting capabilities of WFN but I know it is extremely robust and can literally provide information at our fingertips whenever needed.
- When setting up local tax codes it is tedious and feels like a duplication of efforts to have to request the new tax code through the support center AND also take the added steps of adding the new tax code to our validation tables.
- The latest update for new hire on-boarding no longer prompts for local tax set-ups. This is an "option" to the right of the section but you must remember to select and set this up and, if you do not, then when we add the local tax codes we have to transfer the employee to a new file to facilitate this change.
- In hindsight with the multiple tax jurisdictions we are in, our exposure from a tax basis was more streamlined when we were with a PEO so converting to ADP had somewhat of a negative impact from this perspective.
- In terms of access to information and streamlining processes and corresponding expenses, ADP has had a positive impact.
- PEO
Previous to ADP WFN we were with a PEO who used a portal powered by PeopleSoft. The database management and portal were very streamlined and easy to use however because we were through a PEO, we had minimal direct control.
