Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now

It is being used to process payroll and administer quarterly and annual payroll taxes for for our company's US entities.
  • Self-service capabilities in all security management roles.
  • SmartCompliance module.
  • Level of customization is great.
  • [I think] the reports & analytics tab section is overly complicated but never gives you enough info somehow and the process to create reports is frustrating and is barely useable with the amount of incorrect data. I hate all of the reporting in ADP honestly.
  • The standard reports that cannot be customized, cannot be generated on demand, and only come in PDF format. When your company code has over a thousand employees and you need to combine several separate pdf reports in one sheet then you get frustrated with a system that I can barely report anything out of.
  • Preview Reports are standard and limited to just a few. We are a US company that is required to be SOX compliant and the only preview reports provided by ADP cannot be changed or we cannot add an additional preview custom report to document a specific control.
  • Our company chose not to integrate ADP and our HRIS system and it has been the biggest negative impact in my job and on payroll dept objectives of reducing manual editing of data from different systems and sources.
  • I like all of the learning and training opportunities ADP provides and all of the resources via the Bridge. I would be on the phone with our acct manager so much more often if I didn't have the Bridge to search first.
  • Our 401k match calculation decided with no reason to not work and give employees a match they were not eligible for because they did not have an employee 401k contribution to calculate the match from. [I think] that was completely ADP's fault since we did not adjust anything for 401k, but they are researching and in the end [will] just throw up their hands and say sorry and not realize that one of our execs lost out on investing over $57k.
None of our integration with outside systems has worked to date. It will originally work correctly and then go wrong with no warning or reason. For example, we had a file feed last year that sent the HSA contribution file to the vendor after payroll is processed. A few months with no issues and it decides to send files to the vendor when a payroll wasn't processed and for random amounts. The file that did process after payroll had unexplainable incorrect amounts on it as well. [I think] ADP is only flexible and scalable if you sign up to use every module they offer.
  • Employee Central
  • Benefit Focus
  • Health Equity
None of them worked and none of those systems are currently integrated accurately with ADP.

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy ADP Workforce Now again?

Yes

Please just fix reports. Oracle and Workday do it great, and even the tiny payroll vendors have reporting capabilities that are meet our needs. ADP is the only payroll system I have ever used that I could not figure out how to get accurate numbers for the report that was needed.
SAP SuccessFactors, ADP TotalSource, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
If you have a very small payroll with no multi-J madness, pay for access to modules that are actually pretty critical like benefits, and one one company code then ADP works great. If you have anything complicated or one-two thousand employees then just go with Workday instead.
