Overall Satisfaction with Appian

Support for Appian is fairly good. However I have found sometimes that the on-premise support can be a little lacking as this is not Appian's strategic route.
Appian is very easy to use and provides a lot of powerful tools enabling you to achieve your goal quickly.
Appian is being used across our entire organisation for a range of purposes from customer management to breach reporting. We have found Appian to be very flexible and well suited to whatever requirement we have thrown at it.

  • Regular product enhancements by Appian
  • Appian training is quite basic and linear
  • On premise support could be better
  • So many product releases in a year can also make it difficult to stay on the latest version
  • Appian has reduced average call handling times in every company we have implemented it in
  • Appian has allowed us to create a consistent experience for our customers and simplified our internal processes saving time and money
  • Appian enables heavy re-use through out allowing us to cut development costs
Appian is a much more well rounded tool that is easy to learn and provides a much cleaner user interface.

Scenarios where Appian is well suited

  • When overlaid over multiple systems or legacy systems to provide a simple layer for users and provide automation in place of manual tasks
  • Where the "customer journey" can be simplified and made more consistent

Scenarios where Appian is less appropriate

  • Where a fully customised end to end solution is needed with very specific interface requirements

Appian has a rich set of features and a wide range of uses, because of this we selected it over its competitors.


Speak to a wider variety of vendors and maybe look to get some trial environments set up so we could use the product for ourselves for a period of time.
