Overall Satisfaction with AVI-SPL

We have a splash screen that we required to be moved. It provides the purpose of displaying pertinent information in a control room environment.
  • Prior to having them move the screen it was nice.
  • [In my opinion] they damaged the screen when moving it.
  • They did not return the screen to its full capabilities.
  • [In my opinion] they sent untrained personnel to move our screen. Make sure the individuals that are coming out to work on something for your clients actually know how to complete the task.
  • Don't minimize the customer's concern of a poorly incomplete job.
  • Make sure that when the product is deemed complete by the company that the job is actually complete.
  • Prior to the current service provided it was a vital piece of equipment in the Integrated Operation Center. After it has been turned off due to it not working properly and the amount of damage it sustained while AVI-SPL employees were doing the job.
  • The negative impact we have right now is we do not have an operable screen at this time. They were the initial installers of this screen. However, after the move it has not worked properly since.
  • We have voiced our concerns that the video wall did not meet our expectations and it was ignored. They suggested that our screen is out of date and we should purchase a new one.
The request and concerns of this project have seemed to not be taken seriously. We do not have an operable product at this time.
They were hired to move a video wall. They did not assist in this manner.
We went with AVI-SPL because they were the original installers and we also had a service/maintenance contract with them for our video wall.

This was a horrible experience as a whole. The current status of the screen they were hired to move is it is inoperable. It has significant damage and the functionality of the screen is not remotely close to what it was prior to their arrival.

Using AVI-SPL

10 - I will only speak to my scope of involvement with AVI-SPL. They were supposed to move a screen that they initially installed. They sent out personnel that have never worked with that type of screen before. I explained to the team they sent out that the screen was very fragile and that they would need to be careful with it as they worked on it. [In my opinion] they were not and they damaged the screen.
1 - We use AVI-SPL as a support to our organization. I generally handle speaking with them for the IOC.
  • Display pertinent information for daily operations.
  • Provide a screen for visitors to see what is going on in operations.
  • Provide functionality and control for the display.
  • They provide a maintenance service contract for the big screen in the IOC.
I am going to strongly encourage my boss to not use them in the future. [In my opinion] the service has been horrible and the job we hired them to do did not have a good result. We went from an operable screen off center in a room to a inoperable damaged screen centered in the room.

Evaluating AVI-SPL and Competitors

AVI-SPL provided the initial installation of the screen. However, [I think] they provided a poor service when we had them move the video wall. [In my opinion] they damaged the product to the point of them suggesting we purchase a new screen.
Had I known that the personnel that were sent were not properly trained I would have looked to the manufacturer for the screen move. The screen is a very expensive piece of equipment [which I believe] was damaged by AVI-SPL to the point of them recommending we replace it.

I am unsure if we purchased premium support or not. However, the level of support has been horrific [in my opinion].
Yes - I reported that our Crestron units were not functioning properly. That the screen itself was not functioning properly. [I believe] these requests have been ignored and my concerns minimized or discarded.
