Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp
We use Basecamp as a task manager for projects that require us to interface with clients. It's really good at being able to set up tasks to achieve milestones and generally keep our projects on track. The interface is really easy for clients to understand and work with so it allows us to hit the ground running on projects rather than teach people how to use tools.
- Intuitive interface that's easy to use for all levels of experience.
- Allows you to track progress on tasks and identify speed bumps along the way.
- Keeps all the communication around a project in a centralized location.
- The only real complaint I have about Basecamp is that its mobile version is difficult to use and doesn't always work as expected. Would really like to see a stronger solution were as more and more of our tasks are able to accomplish on mobile devices.
- When projects extend beyond their expected deadline, our business loses money. Basecamp helps keep us organized and moves projects forward so we can work through them more efficiently.
We use Insightly for internal task management and, while it does its job, it wouldn't work for how we use Basecamp. They are intended for different uses and Basecamp really shines in its role as a task/project management piece of software. If you're in the market for a solid CRM though, give Insightly a look.
