Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
BigCommerce is being used by our entire organization. Our business needed an affordable, easy-to-use platform for our web store that also offered functionality and customization.
- BigCommerce has an amazing support team. There are rarely issues, but when an issue DOES arise... they are quick to offer a solution and/or give very accurate timelines for when the issue will be resolved. You speak to a real person, who NEVER appears to be reading a script and when you're on with them... you never feel rushed or that your call or message isn't the most important problem at that time.
- BigCommerce has an amazing development team and they listen to their users. One of the reasons we chose BigCommerce was because of the functionality their platform offered. Of course, as with EVERY platform there are always things you'd like added that may be more specific to our own store, but we have been pleasantly surprised and grateful for the many ideas / suggestions we've made for added features or improvements that have been implemented and implemented well.
- BigCommerce is easy to use and has amazing integrations. We've never had to "train" our employees on how to use BigCommerce, it's mostly self explanatory... unlike other, more complicated platforms we've used. We've been very happy with all of the integrations we've been able to use. There haven't been any major integrations, such as payment methods, that aren't already available and easy to setup.
- While BigCommerce does offer a blog, it is not robust and could use some improvement. It occasionally has glitches and its editor is subpar compared to other platforms with built-in blogs.
- The free themes available on BigCommerce are limited and paid themes are not fully supported by BigCommerce's support team.
- The theme editor could use improvement and is often slow to respond when previewing changes. We wish there was a log that would allow you to revert back to one of your previous saves. If you make changes, and it breaks something on your site... you have to remember what changes you made and manually change them all back to find the one thing that may have broken your site. Occasionally a developer is required to make updates to themes.
- BigCommerce has reduced our total cost for website management.
- Using BigCommerce we have significantly reduced time spent on order management.
- We have been able to do more with our site while spending less money on using a developer to build/modify our website.

Our business has not had a need to use BigCommerce's open API... yet, but we couldn't be more thrilled knowing it's there and available when the time comes. The integrations that are offered with BigCommerce allow us to make BigCommerce "custom" without paying a custom platform price. Our favorite integrations are all the available payment options at checkout and an affiliate program allowing customers to earn money while referring their friends to our site.
We evaluated and used numerous platforms before finally landing with BigCommerce. Some of the platforms were cookie-cutter and didn't offer enough freedom to customize certain things. Other platforms required each individual piece of the platform to be manually added.... adding to their base cost - ultimately costing us thousands of dollars vs a reasonable monthly fee with BigCommerce that INCLUDED all of those "custom" features.
