Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

We use RE NXT as our database. We use it to keep track of all of our constituents and their giving to the institution. We pull queries and reports on our constituents on anything from class year to total giving, college attended to year-to-year fundraising analyses.

  • Only shows a certain number of Actions, whereas database view shows them all
  • Doesn't show all the gift information on a gift record whereas database shows all information

  • It has definitely made it easier for us all to access and use our database.
  • We rely less on our database manager for information because we can more easily access it ourselves, saving time
  • We are able to track donors more easily, saving time and work from sorting spreadsheets
The analytics and data intelligence has provided us with more information on our donors, helping us make decisions on who should be actively managed by a gift officer and who should be solicited at what level. Those functions have helped us save valuable time which turns into increased dollars in the door.
  • No Training
We were previously using Raiser's Edge and when NXT was offered, we jumped at the chance to use the more user-friendly version of the system. I used Advance at another institution at I found it a little clunkier to use. Similarly, I was able to access the database from any browser but I had to be on their network to access it. The user interface was clean and included a lot of information, more than RE NXT, but was often multiple clicks to get to the information you were looking for. Queries and reporting were also more difficult to run on your own.

I can access RE NXT from any computer, anywhere, which is a giant leap from the previously installed database version on a computer. We travel often and it's nice to know that if we need to use a different computer or device, we can still access our database.
