High performance LAN switch but add-on license can be costly

Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches
- Catalyst 9200 Series
The Cisco 9200 series LAN switches are being used as edge network devices. The Cisco 9k series is their latest and greatest with high switching power and a good feature set. The switches are well made and come with good support. With Cisco there is always great TAC assistance if required.

- High cost of the DNA licensing which may be unnecessary for some users
- High cost of Smartnet services may deter some users
The features such as virtualization, automation, analytics are not utilized in our scenario. We do not have the scale or use for these solutions. Even though there is no forseeable future use of these items, we had to purchase the DNA license as it is mandatory. Unnecessary in our view that we had to be pushed to purchasing this license.
We will not likely benefit from these features.
Cisco is a better brand name with a long history of top tier features and excellent support.
