Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Cornerstone is being used by all internal employees, as well as our partners and customers. Business problems it addresses are huge, we are able to identify the audience type (internal vs external) and provide online on-demand training for them. This has never happened before so it's a huge game-changer for our organization.

Pros and Cons

Separating out audience groups (self registrations and availability).
Automatic/dynamic assignments.

Would like to see better support help.
Looking at more improved workflows.

Return on Investment

We are moving at an agile pace right now so we are always evolving our processes, it has made a great positive ROI thus far on being able to serve on-demand content to our external partners and customers especially.

Alternatives Considered

SumTotal Learn, Saba and Workday Cloud Platform

When I was looking at Workday they were in the beta phase of their learning module, and it was great, but it had features that Cornerstone OnDemand had that they didn't. They also had great features that they had that Cornerstone didn't. Using Saba and sumtotal, I would say Cornerstone was a much better UI, experience for the admin, and the user altogether.

I can only speak from the learning aspect of this, so I would have to say it's well suited for organizations that would like to house all various types of learning objects to be able to track, measure, assign, and separate out audience groups. Less appropriate if an organization is looking for a knowledge management tool (a place to house documents, like a share point).
