Great resource for vetting potential customers
Overall Satisfaction with D&B Finance Analytics
We use D&B Finance Analytics to run a report on new (and sometimes existing customers) to get a snapshot of their financial situation. It helps us in determining how comfortable we are in establishing credit terms with that customer, or whether we might need to get payment in advance or a partial payment before accepting an order from this company.
Pros
- Shows how long a company had been in business
- Helps in determining the credit worthiness of a new customer
- Gives us information to determine how much confidence we have in a new customer
Cons
- Would like to see some information on interpreting the data shown on a company
- A list of key employees could be helpful, though I realize this is an ever-changing dynamic
- We have found customers with a terrible pay history, allowing us to further query that customer
- No negative impact, other than the rare instance of a potential new customer not being found in the D&B's database
