Overall Satisfaction with DataMotion

We use DataMotion to communicate about PHI. DataMotion lets us send HIPAA-protected information via email. As a research assistant, I am able to communicate with providers about their patients' study involvement. I only use DataMotion as-needed, maybe half a dozen times per week.
  • Sends secure emails
  • Formatting is pretty similar to regular email
  • Nothing else to add
  • Main page navigation is a little clunky
  • Interface could be a bit more modern
  • Better overall integration into my daily workflow
  • We would not be able to send emails containing PHI confidentially without DataMotion, though I do not know about other companies that provide this same service.
  • It is a annoying to have to log into a separate site to view secure emails. I wished my regular email and DataMotion were all one site.
I do not think I am able to integrate DataMotion into outlook on the web. I do not use the outlook app on the computer, as I prefer the web-based interface. Needing to switch between two websites is annoying, but since I use DataMotion on an as-needed basis, it does not completely interrupt my work flow.
Using DataMotion ensures that the study participant's and patient's personal health information is HIPAA-protected. A breach of confidentiality would, of course, be a very big deal.
I do not have anything to compare DataMotion to.

Do you think DataMotion delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with DataMotion's feature set?

Yes

Did DataMotion live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of DataMotion go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy DataMotion again?

Yes

DataMotion is only really used when we have to send patient health information for my research study purposes. This is the only time I ever have to send a secure email for my job. It may be useful if I needed to send personal documents to Human Resources or Occupational Health, but that is only a rare need.
