Deputy: Easy to use time tracking software
Overall Satisfaction with Deputy
We've transitioned to using Deputy for time tracking and scheduling. All of our hourly employees track time via Deputy, and our biggest team (17 people) uses Deputy for scheduling as well. We moved to Deputy because our prior time tracking platform didn't offer a robust scheduling option. Our scheduling is challenging and ever-changing, and Deputy is a huge improvement over creating schedules in Excel!
Pros
- Scheduling.
- Mobile app.
- Time tracking.
Cons
- There is no way to route timesheets to managers for approval or to notify managers that they should approve their employees' timesheets.
- Would love more complex pay rates (we have a lot of multipliers for things like weekend work, holiday work, etc, and we have to deal with those manually).
- Saved time on scheduling.
- Saved time on onboarding because it's so easy.
- Easy reporting that makes it easy to get hours exported for payroll.
- QuickBooks Time (formerly TSheets)
I liked TSheets, [it was] fairly easy to use, and it synced with our payroll platform, but the big piece that was missing was scheduling. Scheduling had become a big challenge, [which] drove us to look for an alternative option to TSheets, and that's how we found Deputy.
