Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use it for our regular and casual staff. We use it daily to keep on top of staffing needs between various aspects of the business.
  • Making sure we don't roster one staff member in two locations with overlapping shifts.
  • News Feed, communicate to all staff about changes in the roster.
  • Budgeting our payroll expenses.
  • The ability to require staff to confirm shifts, we use this all the time when a shift has changed.
  • Once employees are added to Deputy, it should create a QR code to scan with your phone to import staff details into your contacts.
  • It should let you know the last working day of an employee on the left-hand side so you know when the last time they were rostered.
  • It should allow you to add short notes or mark preferred employees with a star for those you'd prefer to roster on first based on availability.
  • The SMS charges add up considerately. We pay more in SMS fees than for the monthly charge. There should be a plan that includes the SMS fees.
  • We're not able to do payroll through Xero for contractors. We are able to do it for regular employed staff.
We've used Excel prior to this.

Very simple to use.
Easy enough to set up, the only issue is with the connection to Xero for contractors. It's perfect for regularly employed staff.
It takes the hassle out of rostering & communicating to everyone on a mass scale.
