Overall Satisfaction with Druva Phoenix
We are in the healthcare industry and we have in-house servers that have HIPAA information that needs to be backed up off location. We use Druva Phoenix as our daily backup solution. It is HIPAA compliant, and they signed a BAA with us, so that gave us good peace of mind that our information would be in good hands. On top of that, the system is pretty easy and intuitive to use. The pricing structure for being a business solution beats other vendors such as Barracuda. We have had a couple of scenarios already where we need to recover some pieces of information, and the recovery process has been fast and easy. There is also an account manager that reaches out to you every now and then to know if things are working properly. The only thing that you should be aware of is which product are you hiring from their line of products. Phoenix is oriented to servers only, and it requires a server operative system, if you need to backup endpoints, you will need a different product.
- It is easy to use.
- It is cost-efficient in comparison to competitors.
- It is HIPAA compliant.
- They sign a Business Associate Agreement with your organization if necessary.
- Depending on the size of your business, it can be cost-prohibitive since the minimum purchase is a year's worth of service.
- You do need someone who knows what they are doing to set up the backups and make sure you don't over-consume your credits with crazy retention policies.
- This is a necessary service to keep your information safe. I would not say that there is a tangible ROI unless you reach a point where your server gets attacked and wiped-out. Then, you can recover your information in an easy manner, which could represent a potential several-thousand-dollar savings.
At the moment of making a choice of what system to use, we were debating between going with Barracuda and going with Druva. The main difference is that Barracuda requires that you have a physical device that you have to pay a monthly recurring fee for, and on top of that you need to purchase the cloud solution. It just becomes significantly more expensive than Druva.
